Black Seraph, Gavrail
All the hype for the upcoming G Booster 7 is around us,
so why wait any longer? Starting us off this week with
spoilers is Black Seraph, Gavrail. Her skill is an ACT
GB2 skill, which costs Counterblast 1 and G Persona
Blast, and then she gets 2 skills: every time a card
enters the damage zone during the battle phase, 2 of
your units gain 2k until end of turn, and after
attacking, her Rescue skill kicks in, healing 2 damage,
and then you take 2 damage back, activating any revealed
triggers.
So basically, you're looking at her worst case scenario
being an extra 4k twice over distributed as you see fit.
Any triggers revealed during her Rescue are basically a
bonus. Having said that, like Vanargandr for Genesis
this is kind of hit-and-miss as it's still dependent on
chance for maximum mileage, but at least she's got that
column thing going on.
As for any potential to combine her with other Rescue
skills for big columns: I wouldn't. Until Black Seraph
appears to create Nova Grappler-esque shenanigans the
deck is pretty vanilla and bland up until that point and
lacks the punch that can be spread out over several
turns.
Even so, G Angel Feather finally got an independent
finisher rather than a Pegasus/Broken Heart setup unit,
so that's pretty neat.

[Black Seraph, Gavrail]
And now, this week it's time for the meat of G Booster
Set 7! Gavrial has great utility. She'll pump your
ponies and Broken Hearts (or Frontal Celestial, Mel'ejal)
after she swings. She'll bestow the pony/Broken Heart
power increase ability to any unit, though those pumps
only happen during the battle phase (sorry Refros).
Gavrial Rescuing two cards will get you a whole new
column if you heal a Laser Clutcher, Ke'el and Drill
Motor Nurse. And let's not forget actually hitting
triggers off of Gavrial damaging herself.
Rescuing a lot of cards might make you worry about
decking out, but Angels have a lot of power plays to
straight-up end the game these days. Go out there and
sack some triggers, stack buffs, and refresh columns!
Just be smart. If you've been getting the smack down
from your opponent and need to go into Raphael to get
rid of some damage, save your Gavrial play till you're
out of the danger zone. What am I saying, is Gavrial
these days in any sort of danger?
