Dragonic Overlord "The Legend"
Ah yes. This. His GB2 activates when you toss a Grade 3
Flame Dragon from your hand. He gains 1 Grade, 1 Drive
check, 15k power, and a skill: once per turn, after
attacking a rear-guard, you toss three cards in the hand
and stand him back up. As his on-ride skill, CB1 and SB1
to search the top5 cards of your deck for a Flame
Dragon, add it to your hand, then shuffle the deck.
Ruling: NO THIS DOESN'T WORK WITH THE DO BREAK RIDE.
1/Turn CLAUSES ARE SUBJECT TO THE "NO PAY WHEN ABLE, NO
SKILL AT ALL" CLAUSE, LIKE THE DO BREAK RIDE.
Sorry, I just wanted to get that out my freaking system.
With that said, is it worth it? Well, as much as this
gives new Nehalem 10k shield, that's about as far as it
gets. It operates on "no Grade 3, no life" like Vortimer
Diablo, but there's a problem. If you had a Grade 3 in
your hand, would you rather toss it for a glorified +1
that late in the game, or would you Stride into either
Nouvelle Vague L'Express or the Ace, which would give
you more output and/or fuel Nehalem by the same amount
anyway? Just about the only thing you ever use him for
is the ability to add Lava Flow or Protect Orb Dragon to
your hand, or emergency Grade 3s for Stride if you
didn't get any.
Suppose with the right pieces, it can reach Zahm levels
of boardwipe though, and soft advantage though more
triggers.

Dragonic Overlord "The Legend"
HOW many forms does that make for him now?
Original
The End
Break Ride
Rebirth
The Great
The "X"
The Ace
and now "The Legend"
Only Eight forms. Quick! I need more! Bushiroad!
Make more forms! BRILLIANT!
So, when placed on V, you look at the top 5 cards for a
Flame Dragon, which there are plenty Grade 2s and Grade
3s to nab, and add it to your hand.
The GB2 skill...
Who needs Stride?! This becomes a Stride unit with
its GB2 skill. Combine with the Break Ride skill
and cost, this restands and attacks again, because
that's all the Overlord does! He keeps attacking
and attacking until the world is nothing but ashes!
Thankfully the cost is Dauntless Drive Dragon's cost,
but... Eh, how hard is THAT to do?
And something that flips over a G-Unit right away, plus
a Limit Break Enabler, Break Ride this onto Dauntless,
use the skill and...
Yeah, fun. Vanguard, rear-guard, vanguard, all for
6 discards to get 3 attacks off.
Granted, if they have interceptors in the front line,
they're going to throw all their interceptors in front
of the first attack so you have no targets for the 2nd
attack and lose out on the ability.
Which is why the Break Ride+Rebirth combo was so nice,
but I digress.
Anyway, the only issue I have with this is, while this
is amazing, and it is, I think the Ace and The X+The End
can do what this does but better, especially since The
X+The End can do Infinite Legion tricks.
I mean, it's not... Wait, can this thing...
*Reads closely* Nope, just once a turn, thought it was
closer to the original Overlord, attack each rear-guard.
Too good I guess, too much critical stacking with that.
You can still mix it with Lizard Soldier, Fargo and
retire a lot of rear-guards this way.
Over-all, not sure what to think. Don't get me
wrong, this is a VERY nice unit to have, just not sure
how it compares to what's already in play.
Then again, restanding Vanguards with Stride power and
drive checks are never a bad thing.
Only downside is that it has to be a Grade 3 Flame
Dragon at GB2.
Hmm... I like it, need to playtest with it.
