Regalia of the Present Age, Verthandi
...Well, that's one way to revive something. Verthandi's
first skill is to Soulblast 3 Regalia cards to give
everything in the front row a skill: when they hit the
Vanguard, look at the top 2 cards of the deck. Add one
to the hand, the other goes to the soul. Second skill:
whenever you Stride a Regalia G Unit, the VG gains a
skill, which gives up to three Regalia units in your
front row 1000 power every time a card enters your soul.
...Well, it's nice, but I wouldn't really call it the
best way to revive this deck. Modern Regalia is stuck in
an era dependent on Legion to survive in terms of
Vanguard and rear-guard support, outside of Minerva, and
this doesn't help them. Depending on the opponent to be
on Grade 3 sucks, man. Not to mention Regalia is slow at
loading the soul because it depends on stuff entering
the drop zone and dying, as opposed to other breeds of
Genesis which can load soul from the deck and thus is
easier to fuel.
She's eh. Her new G Unit isn't too hot either in
combination with this.

[Regalia of the Present Age, Verthandi]
It's annoying when Bushiroad provides support to a
subclan that basically tries to be like its stride
variant, but lacks the total punch that the stride
variant provides (such as that Arboros support).
Eradicators and Brawlers have their own niche over
Vanquisher, and so is the case within a few other clans
and subclans, but not so much with Verthandi.
The ACT skill is nice if you ride to Grade 3 first and
can get three cards in the soul that early, but late
game the on-hits are going to matter less. Her on-stride
effect is a decent enough buff to your Regalia units,
but you only get the effect if you stride into one of
the two Regalia Grade 4s. Your first stride basically
ends up being Demeter. When Demeter swings, that'll end
up being 3k to three units you have on board, or 6k to a
column and 3k somewhere else. You can get more power
from Hermea and Shiny Angel's on-call effects, and when
you eventually stride into Urth (the new Regalia
Stride), you'll give three units a 6k buff, provided you
had three Regalia units on board during the Stride
phase.
It's a little disheartening that Verthandi and Urth
leave barely any room for non-Regalia units since they
only add Regalia cards to soul and only soulblast
Regalia cards for their costs. But y'all Regalia players
are compensated a bit for that downside. Some of the
Regalia support does not have "Regalia" in the name, but
with the power buffs provided to rearguards, you can
forego your 12k and 10k beaters. You also don't need
Apple Witch, Cider anymore because of your G-Guard.
Running Next-era Regalia, Skuld, means you can cycle
cards back into the deck without having to run Dreaming
Dragon. However, using stride fodder, Tahro (the new
Revelation Stand), and those witches that superior call
themselves when soulblasted could bite you in the ass,
even though they're good utility.
In the end, Minerva needed a new backup boss since Yggy
got neutered hard by G-Guardians (and because people
didn't want to run that Stand trigger that made her
actually hard to guard against). It's just another
Oldguard deck, meaning you'd better be happy with your
lack of Gen Break reliance in lieu of G-Genesis's
trigger stacking and draws.
