I guess the rings in the artwork were a giveaway, but I
looked at this and saw it had little synergy in
Messiahs. Chaos Breaker loves this though. But what does
it do? For CB1 and discarding 2 cards in the hand, the
opponent must put a card from their hand to an open RG
circle as a locked card, for every card in the
opponent's damage zone.
As I said, good synergy with Chaos Breaker, since his
Limit Break retires any unit that unlock during the End
Phase, opening up rear-guard circles to drop this. As
far as the speed of the GB8 goes, Chaos operates mostly
on G Persona Blast anyway with Chaos Universe, Big
Crunch in a pinch and the new G Guardian (which locks
and so plays right in Chaos Breaker's hands), so you
could drop this as the third or fourth Stride as a
useful hand destroyer I suppose, and GB8 requirement's
are feasible since Lock is supposed to be a stall
tactic.
just be thankful Chaos decks have room to play with
their G Zone, otherwise this wouldn't find much room
anywhere else really.

When i first saw Altwilder, i was rather unimpressed.
Out of all the GB8 effects, this one is not only the
most expensive, but arguably the most narrow,
considering it relies on the opponent not having rear
guards at all. Normally when playing Link Joker, as long
as you've occupied the opponent's attacking lanes with
locks you're usually okay, so this really doesn't add
anything, especially for Messiah. After testing though,
i like it more... but only a bit
It delivers on an effect that helps undo one of Link
Joker's weaknesses, and that's mirage style decks.
Granblue, Pale Moon, and to a lesser extent Gear
Chronicle and Shadow Paladin, this heavily punishes
opponents for leaving open circles. And the only way to
avoid this is to call units and leave them there, which
Link Joker is more than happy to take advantage of.
However, that discard of 2 cards is hefty, and if you
aren't prepared for the swing back you wll probably
lose. Still, if you can force 3 or more cards from the
opponent's hand you can make survival difficult, and
retaliation almost impossible. In Messiah it's an
option, but in Chaos Breaker it's fantastic, seeing as
how you can just wipe their field clean. Heck, run 2 in
that deck
