Ash and them take a break in Cherrygrove City. Ash is sitting next to some water, polishing his Pokeballs and the GS Ball that the Professor gave him. All of a sudden, a Pokemon pops it's head up, it's a Quagsire!! Being a water Pokemon, Misty decides to capture it. Psyduck comes out of it's ball, and starts having a staring thing with Quagsire. Then, the Quagsire steals the GS Ball, and Ash sends out Squirtle to get it back. Squirtle gives a good chase, and eventually, Ash tell Squirtle to hit it with Water Gun, knocking the GS Ball back in their possession. Squirtle and Quagsire have a Water Gun bout, and Misty goes to catch the Quagsire, but then, Officer Jenny rides up, and places them all under-arrest for violating the Quagsire preservation law. At the police statoin, Professor Oak is talking to Jenny, telling them that they are passerbys, and that they didn't know any better about the law. Everything is fine now, and Oak asks Ash about the condition of the GS Ball. Ash wonders why Quagsire stole the ball, and it is revealed that Quagsire swim around annually to steal round objects, which are eventually returned to their owners. Just then, Quagsire pops up in the window, begging for the GS Ball. Ash and them leave the police station, and they encounter another Quagsire, begging for the GS Ball. It attaches to Ash, and Ash lets out Chikorita, and it attacks Ash and Quagsire, and the GS Ball drops free of Ash's bag, and the Quagsire steals it. Brock then reveals that it looks like Chikorita has a crush on Ash... Scene switches to T-Rocket, and they are fondling their Pokeballs. All of a sudden, one is stolen, and they go to send out the others, but a group of Quagsire have already stolen them all....

Ash and them are all giving chase to the Quagsire, and it looks like they've lost it. They then decide to wait for the Quagsire, but then, Pikachu spots a group of Quagsire, and they follow them to see if they can find the one that has the GS Ball. T-Rocket spots Ash and them, and decides to follow, really wanting to get their Pokeballs back. Ash and them come across a clearing, and Ash spots the Quagsire with many other Quagsire holding the GS Ball. T-Rocket are also in the area, they decide to grab Pikachu, but then decide to make even more cash by grabbing all the Quagsire. Ash and them are watching the Quagsire, when suddenly, a net comes down a scoops a Quagsire. They do their motto, and Quagsire slips out of the net. They keep doing their motto, frantically trying to catch them, they get disappointed, but then Meowth deploys a large net and catches them all at once. T-Rocket is looking for their Pokeballs, they find them, then go to get them. T-Rocket is about to leave, but then they grab Pikachu too. All of a sudden, rocks are flying at T-Rocket! The Quagsire are throwing rocks at them!! Ash sends out Bulbasaur, he attacks the net with Razor Leaf, freeing the Quagsire, then hits the balloon, popping it and sending T-Rocket flying. The Quagsire are leaving the area, and Ash and the gang decide to follow. They come across a waterfall, and a moon is shining above it. The Quagsire then Water Gun their round object each to the top of the falls, and it makes a beautiful scene. The Quagsire with the GS Ball shoots his object up, it goes higher than any other round object, but then it starts drifting downstream. Ash gives chase. The next morning, all the people of the town re-collect their items, and a GS Ball is seen floating down. Ash and them find the ball, and Jenny tells them that since it was the last item, Ash will have the greatest of luck all year. Everyone applauds, and Ash starts a victory dance, because he has confidence enough to make it through the Johto League. And that's it!!!
