Review of episode "Forest Grumps"

Forest Grumps

    The story starts out with our heroes, ash, misty, and brock, heading

towards the next city and their next adventure. They decide to take a break

by a nearby river and they let out all their pokemon. Just as everyone is

beginning to enjoy themselves, Team Rocket show up in their meowth balloon.

They throw a net upon all of the pokemon and start to take off. As ash, misty

and, brock look on in amazement, a powerful beam of light appears and shoots

Team Rocket's balloon down. As ash, misty, and brock recall their pokemon, a

strange bear-like pokemon appears. Brock recognizes it to be an ursaring. The

ursaring give chase to our heroes and Team Rocket. When it seems like

everyone is safe, ash and brock realize that misty is gone, and in her place

is jessie. James and meowth also realize that jessie is gone, and in her

place is misty.

    A fight ensues as ash and brock send out their pokemon to fight jessie.

James and misty also release their pokemon to start a battle of thier own,

but just as both battles begin they are interrupted once more by the

bad-tempered ursaring. Both teams flee for their lives. Realizing there is no

way out of it, ash and brock agree to a temporary truce with jessie. James

and meowth also agree to a truce with misty.

    As ash and brock call out misty's name, jessie realizes how much misty

really means to them. She states that james and meowth are probably just as

worried, which is not the case. James is very sure that jessie can take care

of herself and doesn't seem to worry much.

    As time goes on, james, meowth, and misty come to a crossroads leading in

3 different directions. They all have different reasons as to why the other

is right. They play rock, paper, scissors and meowth wins (because he claims

to have the odd finger). So they reluctantly follow meowth.    

    Meanwhile, pikachu is very much worried about misty, and ash tells it

that he's worried too (obviously because he cares). As night falls, ash,

brock, and jessie start to set up camp. Brock cooks a delicious meal as

jessie looks on in hunger. She soon finds out that they eat like that all the

time.

    Later...james and meowth decide to stop for a bite. James takes out a 

rather small biscuit and shares it with meowth, while misty takes out a huge

sub sandwich. Misty feels sorry for james and meowth and decides to share it

with them.

    Meanwhile...ash, brock, and jessie are camped out in a cave. Pikachu

starts to worry about misty again and ash reassures it that they will

continue their search for misty in the morning. James, meowth, and misty once

again play rock, paper, scissors and meowth wins a second time. They climb

down a small cliff and decide to camp there for the night.

    Jessie wakes up in the middle of the night and decides that now would be

the perfect time to steal pikachu. As she makes her escape she runs into a

very angry ursaring, which send her fleeing back to the cave. James and

meowth also attempt to steal misty's pokemon, but don't get far when they

realize they have no where to go once they actually have her pokemon.

    In the morning, they once again play rock, paper, scissors and meowth

wins for the third time. Ash, brock, and jessie encounter more ursaring and

make an attempt to attack them, but in the end they end up fleeing. James,

meowth, and misty are also surprised by the ursaring and they decide to flee

also. As the 2 teams flee, they meet up with each other and make the decision

to cross an old, rickety bridge. 2 ursaring cut the ropes and the 2 teams are

barely hanging on for their lives. Ash calls out chikorita and bulbasaur;

brock calls his onix; jessie calls out her arbok; and james calls out his

victreebell. A surprise appearance is also made by psyduck. The pokemon help

there trainers up and everyone starts to celebrate. Just then they remember

that they are enemies and should be battling instead of celebrating. Togepi

does an attack, unbeknownst to ash, misty, and brock, and it sends Team

Rocket blasting off again. Misty wonders who could have done the attack when

ash and brock approach her. Ash states how worried they were about her and

says that he's glad she's ok. Misty thanks him and says that she missed them

too. Brock wonders why the ursaring attacked them when ash realizes a sign.

He reads it and it says that its ursaring mating season and the area is being

used for their breeding grounds. Our heroes then continue their journey

safely. Unfortunately for Team Rock they land in the middle of a herd of

ursaring...

Forest Grumps



Ash and his friends take a break next to a river and let out all their
Pokemon. Chikorita is a little intimidated by the active Totodile. Everyone
is relaxing when a giant net appears out of the air and catches all of the
Pokemon!
Team Rocket flies up in their balloon and carries off the Pokemon. Just as
they think they'll actually get away with it this time, an energy beam blasts
out of the forest and shoots them down. The net falls and the Pokemon escape.
A group of large and fierce bear-like Pokemon that have rings on their
stomachs emerge from the woods, and Brock recognizes them as Ursaring. They
all fire Hyper Beams and cause a huge explosion! In fright, the kids recall
their Pokemon and run as the Ursaring charge. Everyone runs into the forest
while the Ursaring keep firing their beams, and in the confusion they are
separated. Eventually it's discovered that Jessie has ended up with Brock and
Ash, while Misty is with James and Meowth.
Jessie sends Arbok to attack and Ash prepares to fight with Pikachu, but more
Ursaring appear, forcing them to run again.
James and Meowth are about to attack Misty when another Ursaring scares them.
Ash suggests that they have to work together to escape the Ursaring and
Jessie agrees to a temporary truce.
Misty and James also agree to a truce.
Brock and Ash call out for Misty as they wander through the forest, and
Jessie realizes how much they care about Misty. She wonders if James and
Meowth are worried about her.
In fact, James isn't worried at all, he believes that Jessie can take care of
herself. He, Meowth and Misty come to a crossroads, and each of them point in
a different direction. They play rock paper scissors to decide which way to
go; Meowth wins and leads them on.
Night falls. Brock says they should stop and camp for the night. Perhaps if
he starts to cook, Misty will follow the smell to them. He cooks a stew and
Jessie stares hungrily at the pot before grabbing the ladle from Brock and
tasting it. She thinks it's delicious, Ash says that Brock cooks good food
for them every day. Brock asks if Team Rocket eats very well, and Jessie
doesn't want to tell him that they live on instant noodles most of the time,
so she lies and says yes.
James and Meowth want to stop for a bite, they share a small biscuit and wish
there was more. Then they see Misty take a submarine sandwich out of her
backpack and are shocked. They ask if that's all hers, and she replies that
Brock makes sandwiches for them every day. James laments that it's not fair
that TR has to scrounge for food while the kids always have sandwiches. Misty
notices James and Meowth staring at her (and drooling!) so she shares her
sandwich with them. They say it's the best-tasting sandwich they've ever had.
Later, they're looking for a place to bed down. Meowth finds a hollow tree
but it turns out to be full of Ursaring, who chase them out.
Ash, Brock and Jessie are camped in a cave. As Ash reassures Pikachu that
they'll find Misty in the morning, Jessie remembers some of the strange
places that Team Rocket had to sleep in. Brock gives her a blanket and she
settles down.
Meanwhile, James, Misty and Meowth do rock paper scissors again and Meowth
wins a second time. They end up climbing down a cliff onto a small ledge,
hoping the Ursaring won't find them there. Not trusting her companions, Misty
draws a line in the dirt with a stick and threatens to sic her Pokemon on
them if they cross it.
In the middle of the night, Jessie wakes up and decides to take the
opportunity to sneak off with Pikachu. She doesn't get far when she bumps
into some Ursaring and high-tails it back into the cave. In the morning,
they're on the move again, and Jessie is grumpy because she didn't get
Pikachu or much sleep.
Misty, James and Meowth discover that their ledge is only a few feet off the
ground. Meowth says that he and James could have just taken Misty's Pokemon
during the night and she gets angry. Rock paper scissors, and Meowth wins for
the third time!
Ash, Brock and Jessie meet an Ursaring. Thinking it easier to take them on
one by one, they release Cyndaquil and Onix. The Ursaring barely flinches at
Onix's Tackle attack and becomes enraged at Cyndaquil's Flamethrower. Jessie
notes that the kids are always confident because they have well-trained
Pokemon, and TR is pathetic in comparison. More Ursaring show up, so Ash and
Brock recall their Pokemon and flee.
Misty, James and Meowth are surprised by another Ursaring.
The two groups finally reunite, both being pursued by angry Ursaring. They
spot a rope bridge across a gorge, it looks rickety but they have little
choice. They start to run across and the bridge begins to fall apart. Two of
the Ursaring slash the ropes, and everyone holds on as the bridge falls!
They're now hanging below the cliff edge.
Ash holds on one-handed and throws two PokeBalls up to the top of the cliff,
releasing Chikorita and Bulbasaur. James lets out Victreebel which chomps him
before leaping up, and Onix and Arbok join them. Psyduck comes out, and Misty
yells at it that they don't have any use for it at the moment.
All the Pokemon work together to pull the bridge up. They've almost done it
when the remaining ropes break and the kids fall. Chikorita and Arbok catch
Ash. Brock is caught by Victreebel, Misty by Onix (with Jessie and Meowth
hanging onto her legs) and James by Bulbasaur.
They all celebrate and congratulate each other, when Jessie realizes they
ought to be fighting. The truce over, they separate into their proper teams.
Various Pokemon battles ensue but Togepi puts an end to the fighting by using
its Metronome to cause a huge explosion that sends Team Rocket blasting off.
Misty is glad to be back with her friends, but Brock doesn't understand why
the Ursaring attacked them. However Ash finds a sign next to the bridge and
reads it: it's currently the Ursaring mating season and they are using this
area as their breeding grounds. Don't disturb them if it's the last thing you
do!
Unfortunately for Team Rocket, they have landed back in the breeding grounds
and are surrounded!

Ash & Friends are passing through a forest when Team Rocket comes.  They are
about to battle when Some Ursaring show up and start to use Hyper Beam.  They
run for their lives. When they get away  they find out they're separated.  
Jesse is  about to fight Ash & Brock when 2 Ursaring show up and use Hyper
Beam.  The same happens to Misty who is with James & Meowth.
Ah,Jesse,and Brock find a place to sleep.  James, Meowth, and Misty try to
sleep in a cave but it's filled with Ursaring.  They sleep on a cliff.   They
finally run into each other on a bridge but the bridge breaks.  They use
their pokemon to help.  Then they get in a fight and Team Rocket blasts off!
Agh & the gang find out they were being attacked because it was Ursaring
mating season. Team Rocket lands in the middle of a pack of Ursaring.

THE EPISODE BEGINS WHEN ASH, WHO HAS JUST COME FROM CATCHING A VERY RARE
SHINY NOCTOWL, MISTY, AND BROCK ALL DECIDE THAT THEMSELVES, PIKACHU, TOGEPI,
AND ALL OF THE OTHER POKEMON COULD USE A REALLY BIG REST.  SO ASH RELEASES
BULBASAUR, CHIKORITA, CYNDAQUIL, TOTODILE, AND HIS NEW BRIGHTLY COLOURED
NOCTOWL.  MISTY CALLS ON ALL OF HER POKEMON WHICH ARE GOLDEEN, STARYU,
PSYDUCK, AND POLIWHIRL.  MOST OF THE POKEMON ARE HAVING FUN, ROLLING AROUND
IN THE GRASS, SPLASHING IN THE WATER, AND HAVING A REALLY GOOD TIME.  BROCK
RELEASES ONIX, GEODUDE, ZUBAT, VULPIX, AND PINECO SO THAT THEY TO CAN JOIN IN
ALL OF THE FUN.  THE GANG ARE HAVING A REALLY GOOD TIME AND EVERYONE SEEMS TO
BE ENJOYING THEMSELVES WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN SOMETHING APPEARS TO BE IN THE
SKY.  IT IS THE ONE AND ONLY TEAM ROCKET!  THEY ARE IN THERE MEOWTH BALLOON
AND INTEND ON CAPTURING EVERYSINGLE ONE OF ASH, MISTY, AND BROCKS POKEMON!  
THEY THROW A NET COVERING EVERYSINGLE ONE OF THE POKEMON, MUCH TO THE
SURPRISE OF ASH, MISTY, AND BROCK.  JUST WHEN TEAM ROCKET ARE MAKING THERE
GETAWAY AND ASH IS TELLING THE POKEMON NOT TO PANIC, A VERY POWERFUL BEAM
EMERGES FROM THE SURROUNDING FOREST AND STRIKES TEAM ROCKETS BALLOON.  THE
SCHEMING GROUP COME FALLING TO THE GROUND, AND SO DO THE POKEMON.  NO ONE IS
HURT BUT TEAM ROCKET ARE VERY UNHAPPY.  EVERYONE ELSE RECALLS THERE POKEMON.  
THE GROUP THEN BEGIN TO WANDER WHAT KIND OF ATTACK THAT WAS AND WHO COULD
HAVE FIRED IT.  JUST THEN A STAMPEDING GROUP OF POKEMON COME RUNNING THROUGH
THE TREES AND STOP RIGHT IN FRONT OF EVERYONE, SURROUNDING THEM.  BROCK
STATES THAT THESE POKEMON ARE CALLED URSARING!  THE GANG NOTICE A SPACE IN
THE TREES AND BEGIN TO RUN FOR IT.  THE URSARING GIVE CHASE, AND DON'T INTEND
TO STOP UNTIL THEY HAVE CAUGHT EVERYONE OF THEM.  THEN THE URSARING START
USING HYPER BEAM TO ATTACK THE GANG, WHO HAVE NOW DIVIDED INTO TWO SEPERATE
GROUPS.  LUCKILY NO ONE IS HURT BY THE HYPER BEAMS AND THEY HAVE NOW LOST THE
URSARING.  HOWEVER THE GROUPS ARE ALL MIXED UP.  ASH AND BROCK ARE NOW
ACCOMPANIED BY JESSIE, AND JAMES AND MEOWTH NOW HAVE A NEW THIRD MEMBER,
MISTY!  AFTER LOTS OF ARGUING BETWEEN THE TWO GROUPS, THEY ALL DECIDE THEY
SHOULD JOIN FORCES TO FIND THE OTHER MISING MEMBERS OF EACH GROUP.  ASH,
BROCK, PIKACHU, AND JESSIE ARE NOT HAVING MUCH LUCK IN FINDING ANYONE, AND
NEITHER ARE JAMES, MEOWTH, AND MISTY.  ASH AND BROCK SUGGEST THEY SHOULD SET
UP CAMP FOR THE NIGHT AND THAT IS WHAT THEY DO.  WHILE BROCK COOKS UP A
DELICIOUS MEAL, JESSIE LOOKS ON IN AMAZEMENT.  SHE CAN'T BELIEVE IT WHEN ASH
TELLS HER BROCK ALWAYS COOKS UP NICE THINGS TO EAT FOR THEM, TEAM ROCKET
ALWAYS HAVE TO SCROUNGE FOR FOOD!  ELSEWHERE, MISTY TUCKS INTO A NICE
SANDWHICH WHILE MEOWTH AND JAMES LOOK ON, ONLY HAVING SOME KIND OF BISCUIT TO
SHARE BETWEEN THEMSELVES.  MISTY TAKES PITY ON THEM AND GIVES THEM BOTH A BIT
OF HER SANDWHICH.  BACK TO ASH, BROCK, PIKACHU, AND JESSIE.  WHEN ASH AND
BROCK ARE ASLEEP, JESSIE TAKES THE OPPORTUNITY TO STEAL PIKACHU.  SHE PICKS
HIM UP AND RUNS OFF WITH HIM.  SHE IS ONLY FIVE SECONDS AWAY FROM HER
CAMPSITE WHEN SHE ENCOUNTERS A WILD URSARING.  SCARED, SHE LOSES THE URSARING
AND RUNS BACK TO THE CAMPSITE.  MISTY IS ALSO ASLEEP, AND JAMES AND MEOWTH
HAVE A GO OF TRYING TO TAKE MISTYS POKEMON.  THEY THEN REALISE THEY'D HAVE
NOWHERE TO RUN TO AFTER HAVING TO SLEEP BESIDE A BOTTOMLESS CLIFF, OR SO THEY
THINK.  IN THE MORNING BOTH GROUPS START SEARCH AGAIN ONLY TO RUN INTO MORE
WILD URSARING.  ASH USES CYNDAQUIL AND BROCK USES ONIX TO FEND THEM OFF.  AT
THAT POINT MISTY, MEOWTH, AND JAMES FINALLY MANAGE TO FIND THE OTHERS.  
UNFORTUNEATELY THE WHOLE GROUP END UP HANGING OVER THE SIDE OF A CLIFF TRYING
TO CROSS A ROPE BRIDGE TO SAFETY.  THE WHOLE TEAM USE THERE POKEMON TO HELP
THEM OUT OF THIS SITUATION.  JAMES USES VICTREBELL, JESSE USES ARBOK, ASH
USES BULBASAUR AND CHIKORITA, AND BROCK USES ONIX.  MISTYS PSYDUCK COMES OUT
ON ITS OWN ACCORD.  THE POKEMON LIFT EVERYONE TO SAFETY AND THEN TEAM ROCKET
FORCE A BATTLE TO BEGIN.  ALL OF THE POKEMON THAT LIFTED EVERYONE TO SAFETY
END UP FIGHTING ONE ANOTHER.  TEAM ROCKET END UP LOSING AND ARE SENT BLASTING
OFF AGAIN.  AFTER FINALLY ESCAPING URSARING TERRITORY THE GANG READ A NOTICE
WHICH WARNS THEM NOT TO GO ANYWHERE NEAR THE FOREST BECAUSE IT IS URSARING
BREEDING SEASON!  NOW THAT ONE MORE ADVENTURE IS PAST, ASH, MISTY, BROCK,
PIKACHU, AND TOGEPI ARE NOW ONE STEP CLOSER TO REACHING GOLDENROD CITY !
