I find some of the art we’ve been getting in recent sets very curious. This guy almost feels like he belongs on a meme, and now that it’s come up, I seem to recall seeing where somebody turned the art into a meme. Don’t let that lull you into a false sense of complacency, though. In a Goblin deck, he’s basically Future Sight except he can attack – and we all know how good Future Sight can be in the right deck. He has the advantage of likely being alongside lots of cheap cards, of course. And as if that weren’t enough, the ability to suddenly become a Siege-Gang Commander or Goblin Sharpshooter with no warning (or with warning, with the right cards) will absolutely blindside some opponents.

Casual: 5/5
Limited: 3/5
Multiplayer: 3/5
Commander: 3/5

Maybe not a Goblin “lord”, but certainly an enabler. Conspicuous Snoop is a good card for Goblin decks who want to speed things up, as being able to functionally have an extra card in most turns is nice. Also note that the wording lets you cast things like Tarfire, which is cute! The activated ability bit is less relevant on Goblins than it might be on other tribes, but it’s not to be completely forgotten, as you might be able to surprise people with something they didn’t expect. If Goblins are a deck, this might be a solid reason as to why they are, but I’m not sold on Goblins yet.

Constructed: 3.5 (if Goblins are a deck, I like him there)
Casual: 4
Limited: 2.75 (not a great body, and not enough for him to do there)
Multiplayer: 3
Commander: 3.25
