Hello Pojo Fans,

Destiny HERO – Denier is a new Destiny HERO meant to get you to your most desired Destiny HERO quicker.

Normal or Special Summon effect is a great start for a weaker monster, though it does fall in line with many of the Destiny HERO monsters in terms of ATK being low. Stack the top of the deck with a Destiny HERO of your choice from the deck or one from your grave or banished is great for retrieving resources. If you have Dasher in the graveyard, Denier can move the monster to the top of the deck and then that monster can be Special Summoned upon drawing it (Dasher I liked using when briefly has a few Destiny HERO monsters in my LaDD build).

Denier can bring himself back once per duel from the graveyard, netting you a free monster for anything you want, as well as another use of its effect. Plasma tribute fodder, Link Summon, Synchro, Xyz (even though it’s a Level 3), most likely a Link 2 or used as a tribute for effect or Plasma Denier will be used for when it returns. Good restriction on it only being able to use its second ability once per duel, much like Disk Commander, it needed to be put in check to avoid overuse.

Denier is a useful addition to the Destiny HERO archetype. There are few high level monsters you want to play, so you need Level 4 and lower, and even there the choices are pretty sparse for a truly powerful HERO build. Denier is useful in almost any situation and you should be able to max out his effects each time you play him.

So since we already covered Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer, why not cover the other new Destiny HERO? So here’s Destiny HERO – Denier.

Denier is a Level 3 DARK Warrior with 1100 ATK and 600 DEF. Meh stats, but a great Type and Attribute. Upon being Normal or Special Summoned, you can take one of your Destiny HERO monsters in your Deck, graveyard, or banished pile and put it on top of your Deck, which is basically a way to make more use of Malicious with him still being at 2. This is a hard once per turn effect while the other effect to revive itself if you have a Destiny HERO that isn’t Denier on your field or in your graveyard being a once per Duel, which is a great effect, so it’s fair to have a clause to make sure this doesn’t revive itself too much. Denier is a decent card for Destiny HEROs actually, a fine 1-of since it’s searchable and easy to put in grave with Fusion Destiny.

What is this-kick ass art week?  Destiny HERO-Denier is a Dark/Warrior, Level 3, 1100/600 for today.  Normal or Special Summon gives you the ability to cycle a removed D-Hero of yours back to the top of your Deck.  Heroes do remove, at least some of them do, while it’s not for every Hero player, but that should be a good asset to any D-Hero player, and possibly beyond.  It’s optional anyway.  Having a D-Hero on your Field (face-up) or in your Grave other than this guy lets you Special Summon this back to your Field from your Grave.  Honest and easy enough, that’s a fair Effect, and you’re not netting much (or maybe nothing) off that if you don’t have a removed Hero to cycle.  The weak stats here are what’s holding this back for me.  Like most smaller Hero cards, this is a combo piece, and you’re probably getting the second Effect much more often.  Each Effect is Once per Turn, likely to protect spam from the latter Effect.

Art:  4.25/5  I like the pic, but I will point out the guy doesn’t seem to deny anything, so I’m wondering how the name plays into this, if at all.

If you were starting to get sick of seeing boss monsters this week, don’t worry, today’s card isn’t one! Destiny HERO – Denier is another legacy support card introduced in Burst of Destiny, being a level 3 DARK warrior monster. Like its Destiny HERO brethren, it enjoys the amenities of being a HERO, a DARK monster, and a warrior monster, making it searchable by Elemental HERO – Stratos and Reinforcement of the Army. 1100 attack is mediocre for a level 3 monster, but like most combo pieces nowadays, this doesn’t really matter. 600 defense is also largely inconsequential, though that does make it searchable by Cupid Pitch (if you were running a weird Destiny HERO synchro deck, for some reason).

Denier’s first effect is a hard once per turn while its second effect is once per duel. After normal or special summoning Denier, you can place any Destiny HERO monster from your deck, graveyard, or banish zone on top of your deck. While you could topdeck a Destiny HERO you need next turn, the obvious application of this card is recycling Destiny HERO – Malicious, allowing you to use its effect twice in one turn (needless to say, it is unlikely Malicious will be unlimited any time soon). Denier and Malicious can then be used as HERO extenders, going into Xtra HERO – Cross Crusader or simply be used as fusion or link fodder. Denier’s other effect allows you to special summon it from your graveyard as long as there is a different Destiny HERO on the field, though as I mentioned, it’s once per duel. There are plenty of ways to get Denier into the graveyard, such as through Vision HERO – Vyon or Foolish Burial, though if you’re not a fan of using Destiny HERO – Celestial and Dasher to summon Destiny HERO – Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer, you can use Denier and Malicious to jumpstart Denier’s first effect. Overall a great extender for HERO decks and a decent alternative fusion material for the DPE engine, though you’ll definitely have to consider how you’ll combo with it.
