Hello Pojo Fans,

Dingirsu, the Orcust of the Evening Star is one of the best Rank 8’s because it doesn’t need Level 8 monsters to be summoned…and everything else involved with it.

Summon conventionally with the 2 Level 8 monsters, or just use an Orcust Link monster, which means the 1-card Galatea becomes this card as well. Off the Special Summon of Dingirsu you get your choice of a Foolish Burial or extra material attach effect from your banished pile. The material has to be a Machine, which works with the archetype and the monsters you are usually banishing because they work with Galatea. You will have two materials on Dingirsu, giving you two destruction protections. Dingirsu’s ability get its attach or Foolish Burial off its Special Summon grants you the ability to spam this guy over and over, all-be-it once per turn, but still, not many Xyz monsters have that kind of power. Great stats for a monster that is easily summoned, and its effects extend your plays using minimal resources and effort.

Everyone is giving this 5/5, so I’m going to cave and do the same. It is a great card.

Well we already know that I love a good boss monster with some protection, and Dingirsu does not disappoint. Dingirsu, the Orcust of the Evening Star is a Rank 8 Dark Machine-type XYZ Monster with 2600 Atk and 2100 Def. The stats are really good, just not great for Rank 8. However, being a 2100 Def machine makes some Cyber Dragon Support work. Otherwise, the archetype theme stats are good. I would still like a little more attack. She requires any to Level 8 monsters or any 1 Orcust Link Monster. Either way, you can only Special Summon Dingirsu once per turn. Dingirsu can protect any card you control from being destroyed by anything at the cost of 1 material. There is no once per turn on this effect, but you are limited to the number of Materials attached. Finally, upon Special Summon you can either attach a banished machine of yours as new material, or send an opponent’s card from the field to the grave. Non-targeting removal, yeah that is always going to be good. Dingirsu can do this every turn it’s summoned and then still protect itself. Or you can give yourself more options to protect itself. Dingirsu is one of those cards that doesn’t have any flaws. The card also has some beautiful coloring and shading. Run it or look at it forever. Happy Friday!

We end this week with the new Orcust boss monster as we finally start looking at Dark Neostorm, here is Dingrisu, the Orcust of the Evening Star.

Dingrisu is a Rank 8 DARK Machine Xyz with 2600 ATK and 2100 DEF. Stats are solid for a Rank 8, though a bit on the low end, but being a DARK Machine is nice. The summoning requirements are any 2 Level 8 monsters, which it’s nice to be generic, but you can also Xyz Summon this monster by using 1 Orcust Link Monster you control as the whole material instead. Reminds me of Zoodiac here, very easy to summon if you don’t have Level 8s but you are playing Orcust, which Orcust don’t really use Level 8s outside non-pure variants. This earns the restriction of only being able to be Special Summoned once per turn, because otherwise you’ll be able to summon a lot via regular Xyz Summoning or playing Orcust. If a card(s) you control would be destroyed, you can detach a material from this instead, so nice protection for any card you control, and it doesn’t have to be an Orcust monster either. If this card is Special Summoned (doesn’t have to be Xyz Summoned, which is why I mentioned Cymbal Skeleton a lot) you can either attach a banished Machine of yours to this card or send a card your opponent controls to the graveyard. Getting back a banished Orcust for this as material just to detach it later is great for keeping plays going, and the other effect is amazing removal since it doesn’t target or destroy. If you could summon more than one of these a turn, it’d be more powerful, but this is the main reason Orcust are the dominant force that they are now. Play it as a generic Rank 8, but especially play a few copies if you are playing Orcust.

Art: 4.5/5 Orcust are marching to the final battle in the World Legacy saga it seems.

What a mouthful of a name here (takes breath) Dingirsu, the Orcust of the Evening Star closes the week.  Dark, Machine, Rank 8 XYZ Monster, with 2600 attack (a tad low for me) and 2100 defense.  Dingirsu is XYZ Summoned with any two Level 8 Monsters.  So, first we see you can only Special Summon one of these a turn.  If you can throw out or manipulate enough Monsters/Level 8s in a turn to get more than one…too bad hey?

But we see an ease here, as you can also you a theme Link Monster of your choosing for an XYZ Summon of this card, which is very helpful.  Next we see protection, which is always good, especially when it’s broad, as it is here.  When a card(s) you control would be destroyed by Effect OR Battle (fantastic already) you can detach an XYZ Material instead.

That’s likely to run out fast, but it’s still a damn useful ability.  Finally, when Special Summoned, you can send a card your opponent controls to the Graveyard, or attach a Machine Monster of yours that’s been removed from play as XYZ Material.  Both are good, easy to abuse, and obvious as to why you get only one of these a turn.  Honestly, this is good for what it can do if you can make a Rank 8, even out of the theme.

Rating:  I gave Quintet Magician 5/5 when that might not have been entirely accurate, but this guy deserves the same under the same logic, so yea, 5/5

Art:  5/5 by a country mile.  So much beauty in this picture.  I kinda feel the name should be evening stars, as I’m interpreting all the color as the northern lights, but that could be a minor quibble.  Great detail, colors, and she looks quite majestic among it all.
