Hello Pojo Fans,

Divine Evolution is is a weapon for all Divine-Beast monsters or the Wicked God monsters.

Normal Spell, but Spell Speed 4 like the previous two cards we reviewed. Inability to counter a card’s effect is great. Divine-Beast only or Wicked God monster applicable, everything Divine Evolution does for the monster it targets is good. 1000ATK/DEF boost isn’t substantial, but all the monsters able to be targeted by it can have really high ATK/DEF, making it a balanced boost. Prevention of your opponent countering your monster’s effect(s) makes it even harder for them to overcome your Divine-Beast. This effect works especially well to protect The Wicked Eraser, Winged Dragon of Ra, and Slifer the Sky Dragon from losing out on their ATK/DEF to things like Infinite Impermanence. For those mentioned and the others able to be targeted with Divine Evolution this card helps against something like Solemn Strike taking them out upon any of them activating their effect(s). Forcing your opponent to send a monster of any position to their grave on attack declaration from your Divine-Beast empowered with Divine Evolution instantly pays for Divine Evolution. You don’t have to force them to, but the only time you wouldn’t is if it directly would hurt you.

If you play Divine-Beasts or Wicked Gods, there isn’t a reason to play this. It is too good of a card to pass up. It protects, gives an okay boost to an already big attacker, and can be spot removal each turn.

Midweek brings us to a card that does for the Egyptian and Wicked Gods what they should of done on their own: Divine Evolution.

Divine Evolution is a Normal Spell that cannot be negated, which again is great for God support. You get to choose a monster whose original Type is Divine-Beast or whose original name is The Wicked Avatar, The Wicked Dreadroot, or The Wicked Eraser that isn’t already effected by Divine Evolution, that monster gains 1000 ATK and DEF alongside its effects not being able to be negated and the effect where if the monster declares an attack, you can make the opponent send a monster the control to the graveyard. Nice stuff to give to your God Cards, just another issue where these are effects that should of been on the Egyptian Gods already arugably, similar to all the Ra support we got. I guess I get why they weren’t there, but you’d like your monsters to already come with all their protection instead of needing other cards to give them effects you’d hope God Cards would have. Might be a little harsh here, but I’m more strict with God Card support since those cards should of already felt like God Cards with their effects. Anyways, this is an okay card for God Card Decks, which I’m sure you can make a Deck themed around Egyptian Gods work. Still need Wicked God support to help those three.

Divine Evolution is the best of the three cards so far this week, so of course, it had to NOT be a Quickplay, rather a Normal Magic…this is better even initially as it encompasses all the Gods (as well as others, the Wicked Family, and Divine Beasts in general, maybe fun for the future).  Knowing your God/Wicked Effects can’t be negated and WILL go off is a good thing.  I mean, the Gods are vulnerable like most any other card, so that’s pretty nifty.  The 1000 attack and defense boost is essentially moot.  It’s irrelevant to Obelisk, an extra card in Hand, in terms of Slifer, and probably not a huge difference maker for Ra either.  The other Effect attached is optional, and still not particularly great.  If you’re making your push to win or something in that Turn, it could be great.  But I see more so the fact here your opponent chooses the Monster to send to the Graveyard (and that’s BAD) and it’s more likely to end up helping them anyway.  If this card offered protection or something instead of Effect Assurance, we’d have something, but alas, we don’t.

Rating:  2.25/5

Art:  Super boring and bland here, and that looks like the Magician circle/seal, which further confuses me.  1/5
