Doki Doki is our Throwback Thursday choice and another searcher for the Adamancipator deck.

A great 1-for-1 to thin the deck and start up big plays. Doki Doki is that Rock monster you need to start your Special Summoning with the Adamancipator Tuner monsters. Discarding to set up your grave with a Rock-Type to put a different Rock or a copy of the card you discarded onto the field ensures combos. It being a Level 2 can get Researcher and the Crystal monster you hopefully hit off her effect to Level 8 for a Synchro Summon of tomorrow monster: Adamancipator Risen – Dragite. You won’t be playing defensive with Doki Doki, so face-up Attack will likely always be your choice. It isn’t searchable unless you use Block Dragon, but that’s the only real downside to it within the Adamancipator archetype.

You want to see Doki Doki in your first hand so you don’t have to use an Adamancipator for one of your Normal Summons. It helps you combo into your Synchro monsters and sets up your grave for later.

Throwback Thursday this week has a great piece of generic Rock support: Doki Doki.

Doki Doki is a Level 2 EARTH Rock with 500 ATK and DEF. Stats are as expected on Level 2, and it has a good Type/Attribute combination. Its lone effect lets you discard any Rock to Special Summon a Rock monster from Deck with the same Attribute and Level as the discarded monster in face-up Attack or face-down Defense Position. This is a handy effect to get your bricks out of your hand for monsters that offer more value. You can turn a Gogogo into Adamancipator Analyzer or your Koa’ki Meiru monsters and vice versa, Doki Doki or the Level 2 Adamancipator Tuners for the Adamancipator Tuner you haven’t used yet, or your Crystals for the other copies in Deck if you wish. You’re likely going to Attack Position, which does hurt when you consider Adamancpiators aren’t known for stats in the Main Deck, but they probably won’t last long. A Level 2 Tuner lets you use both it and this for Herald of the Arc Light and going for Analyzer gets you to Risen – Raptite. You also got the Link option for Crystron Halqifibrax to get more plays going. In other Rock Decks, summoning face-down might be more useful with cards like Pot of the Forbidden. It’s a hard once per turn effect, because summoning from Deck is always powerful. Doki Doki can be a very strong card for anything Rock-based, so it’s worth having it in most Rock strategies for what it can offer.
