Piccolo the Trained Level 1 – Androids Saga
Rare - #119
Personality

Power: Choose one of your opponent’s personalities in play. That personality may not use his personality power and/or Constant Combat Power for the remainder of the turn.

Piccolo was so broke it wasn’t funny. But that was before he was errataed…

Piccolo’s ability to shut off a personality’s power destroyed many decks seeing most decks run off what their personality’s power is. It used to occur When Entering Combat (WEC), so he would shut off WEC personalities when he attacks, which was perfect seeing you usually do the damage when you attack.

Being able to cripple an opponent by shutting off their power was uncanny. Only a couple combats with some chained energies using Namekian’s Strike meant good game.

Piccolo could play many other colors like Black and still be successful. He was taken away from Orange at the time he raised his anger, but big deal seeing Namekian was his strong point.

Now the thing is… Piccolo can no longer shut down WEC personalities. Most characters that are good in the environment have WEC powers. Not all but many. He can yes shut down characters like Broly if he attacks, or force his opponent to use his power for one attack phase when defending, but he became useless against characters like Supreme West Kai and Yamcha.

He is now playable as an ally. He’s an interesting one; he works against certain characters and sometimes does nothing. It all depends on what character you are battling.

And thus I will have to give a rating on what he is now. He is still decent, but now you have to go with the SS HT Level 1.

Standard: 3.0 out of 5.0 (errata hurt him bad)
Tuff Enuff: 2.9 out of 5.0 (ditto)
Sealed: 2.8 out of 5.0 (decent, he can be an ally and interesting MP if you get Piccolo) ~matthewlow

Piccolo, The Earth's Protector #194 Hi-Tech from Cell Saga

Power: Place the top card from your discard pile at the bottom of your Life
Deck. Draw a card.

I like this power quite a bit. You get to regenerate 1 card, while setting
up your mastery, if use Namekian from World Games Saga, and you get to draw a card, which is always good. Plus with this power you won't draw yourself out like some other powers because of the regeneration that goes along with it. His power level isn't that bad, almost everyone's power level went down after buu saga and fusion saga (except Majin Buu and fused personalities). Anyway, great level 3 for piccolo, and just in general; there may be better level 3's out there, but not too many of them go along with masteries like this one does with Namekian.

Ratings:

Standard - 3.6
Tuff Enuff - 3.8
Sealed Deck - 3.5 (If you get to this level in sealed deck and didn't
already win, this power is pretty good anyway)
