Hi Matt,
Read about your Top 8 adventure at worlds, good on you. I'm emailing because I've come unstuck with my Black deck. I'm trying for Control/Hand Disruption, Lockdown, with a hint of physical beats. It works, but I think it's missing something, and it's driving me absolutely insane. If you get the time (I remember how hectic High school was too), I'd be greatful if you could give my deck a look over.
Thanks!

Evil Chookie? That sounds familiar...
Anyway... well, that letter is heck of old, lol. I'm going to college in a few weeks, so right now is more or less still summer vacation... and thus, I still have some time on my hands. Thanks for your concern; that is why I haven't been able to reply to some in one day. It all depends when I randomly click your email...
You filled your Sensei, nice. I would run Black Front Punch and Black Energy Swirl... bah, no room. What to do... how about cut 1 Face Smash and the Heroic Side Kicks, and run 2 Energy Swirl and 2 Front Punch for major Freestyle tech. If you think it is necessary, you might cut one Pivot for another of either card.
Drills... hm... I would run Weakness Drill over Smoothness Drill, but both is always nice. I would take out Double Attack Drill and maybe even Absorbing Drill seeing that it will be removed quite easily.
You've got only two Battlegrounds. Looking at your deck, I believe it would benefit greatly if you ran City in Turmoil and some Cell's Instant Transmissions. This is said because of the rise in Drill decks, and you don't seem to desperately need your non-combats to survive.
I would add Power of the Dragon seeing that you do run allies and DB needs to be stalled.
Black Dodge needs to go. As for some nice energy defense, Goku's Energy Absorption and maybe even some Energy Ricochets would be nice. Omniblocks can always work.
Instead of Upward Dodge and Swiftly Moving I would use Pikkon's Leg Catch and Goku's Quick Dodge... no wait, you play a mix of Cell Jr... well, you could run a couple. Your Cell Jrs don't seem like the main part of the deck with not running the energy ones. Wait... Black Body Destruction isn't in here... run that over Swiftly Moving. Turning Kicks will take place of the other block.
You wrote Duck twice. LOL. Cell's Charge never really stood out in my mind. I think you are better off without it, but if you find yourself needing to topdeck, run a few. I would probably go and run A14 and feed the bad cards to him.
I think you need an ally searcher or two or so, and Gathering of Heroes might help in the physical defense aspect as well. Your deck looks like it would benefit greatly from Aura Clash, as your level 2 is just wrong, being able to go get Black Physical Focus.
Nice. Really well built; one of the best I've seen. This is a sight for sore eyes, lol. I think this deck can go quite far, especially with a solid Sensei deck. Good luck.
