Q: This is a subject that I didn't really want to
start on, but let's talk
about your mailbag section. A lot of people are idiots out there, but besides that what
has your mailbag section taught you about people in general? Do you feel that these people
should be glamorized by having a whole section dedicated to them?
A: Well, that was my general aim from the beginning to humiliate morons who flame me for
no reason at all. I don't like being pushed around and if the person acts like a moron,
they deserve to be treated like one. The mailbag exposes people who absolutely have no
patience or respect for something I worked so hard on and if they don't like it, they
could at least express their problems in an more mature manner or just leave my site and
never come back. The mailbag isn't really neccessary, but I use it to take out my
frustrations on the morons that piss me off to the extreme. The mailbag has been changing
alot over the past few months because more respectful people now want to voice their
thoughts on it and fight back the morons. So, Yes I do believe that they should be
glamorized and humiliated at the same time, but also hear the thoughts of the people who
are fed up with them.
Q: Why do so many people hate you?
A: I have no idea whatsoever o_O I never start the feuds, I simply just
defend myself on my own grounds.
Q: Now to move on to a totally different subject, Season 3...what were your opinions and
was it a let down compared to seasons one and two?
A: It was pretty much a let down and somewhat an improvement at the same time. The
episodes have pretty much grown on me, so I'm kinda neutral on that.
Q: Where do you think that FUNimation went wrong with Season 3?
A: Alot of things..... The dialouge in the first 20 eps or so was awful but it improved
with every new ep. I can live with the voices, but some of the acting could use a bit more
work. Goku's line delivery in Vegeta's Death episode was really bad and he didn't sound
angry enough during the SSJ transformation. My biggest problem is definitely the music,
while some of it is ok, I just despise the corny rock music that FUNimation uses. I really
liked the dreadful music from Seasons 1 and 2. Since FUNi claims that kids have a short
attention span and won't like the japanese music, they still have to play this monotonous
crap. I just wish the music sounded more inspiring and emotional like the japanese score.
My biggest fears for Season 4 music are gonna be the parts when Trunks goes SSJ against
Freeza, Vegeta vs. #18, and Gohan's first time going SSJ2. I won't forgive FUNi if they
mess
up the music on those parts.
Q: Fan-subs, why all the controversy? Do you think that the Fan subbing organizations are
actually hurting FUNimation?
A: I don't think fansubs are gonna hurt FUNimation for long since FUNi has all the power
to stop it and since the majority of DBZ fans in the US watch the US version, fansubs seem
pretty harmless since they're not proffesionally subbed, sometimes the translations are
bad (Anime labs.... -_-) and the quality isn't crystal clear. Since US DBZ sells well and
the subbed DVDs are gonna be released, the more power to FUNi...
Q: Why a site totally dedicated to Vegeta? Does it get boring after a
while?
A: Vegeta's always been my fav character and since I only need to focus on him, my work
isn't so hard. Although sometimes I wanted to make an all DBZ site, it does get kinda
boring.
Q: Now, like a lot of people, I have a feeling that Vegeta Insane was not your first
choice for a site. So, if you have created any other sites what were they and what were
they about?
A: I created a Final Fantasy 7 site called Neo Midgar back in March 98 trying to explain
Midgar like a real city, it was popular for a while but it died down. Then I tried to make
a site called Piccolo's Boot Camp but I decided to trash the idea. My next idea was
"The Dragon ball sound studio" But I got too lazy to record wavs.
Q: Planet Namek, would your site be what it is today if it wasn't for Mr.E?
A: It wouldn't have so many hits or any multimedia for that matter
Q: Lets keep on the subject of Planet Namek. Planet Namek has "taken over" two
sites and hosts some of the top sites on the net. Do you believe that in some ways Planet
Namek is a monopoly? Also, do you believe that when it comes to DB web sites that Planet
Namek is the game?
A: To me, it's just a way for PN to become more popular which I don't have a problem with.
We both recieve the benefit of getting visitors, so if this is game, it's one we play
until the very end. Hmmmm... did that sound right? o_O It's like... Pass go and recieve
200 visitors. I'd say MrE would be the banker and we're all the pieces.
Q: A while back you changed your design (big improvement in my opinion). Why did you feel
the need to change it and has it in any way help your site?
A: I sorta felt that the old layout was a bit too cluttered and squished in whenever I
looked at it, so I decided to make a simple and sleek layout. It looks more clean to me
now and everything looks more spread out and organized.
Q: Do you see any hope for FUNimation? If you were in charge of FUNimation what would you
do to improve the show?
A: I see some hope...although I fear season 4 since I own all of the android saga on tape
(Which will be Season 4) I would make the dialouge more respectful to the original and use
the japanese score.
Q: Attack of the Saiya-Jin, a landmark when it comes to the video game world. Do you see
any sequels in the future?
A: Well.... maybe, but not anytime soon... It's so hard to use the program to make games
and it's very time consuming.
Q: Page pirates, the idiots of the Internet world. What drives them to steal? What have
been some of your experiences in the past, what have you done to fix the situation, and
did the great Castor Troy ever have a site with stolen material (I have to ask this
because a lot of people start off this way, in no way is this an insult)?
A: I admit when I was into Sailor Moon, I was a page pirate myself. I stole so many pics
and whatnot. I decided that my page was complete crap so I deleted it off the face of the
earth. From there on, I decided to devote my pages only to original material. Page Pirates
are basically formed through pure ignorance, I was ignorant at the time so I know how
these people work. They don't know any better and by punishing them, they can learn.
Q: In my interview with Steve Harmon I asked who his favorite character was and it was
Vegeta. Well, there is no need to ask you who yours is, anyway Steve said "Vegeta,
because at the end of the day, he's the only full fledged sociopath." Is this one of
the reason's that you like Vegeta and if not why do you like him?
A: I love Vegeta for many reasons, he's got style, he's got pride, he's got the smirk and
he doesn't cheat like Goku does and would rather die than depend on anyone else's help.
He's also very badass >=)
Q: Music Videos are sweeping the DB world away. Do you consider yourself one of the
pioneer's of the DB music Video and who is some of your top competition?
A: I pretty much consider myself one of them now among Dannypoo, Meri, and firey. The
thing I like the best about the 4 of us is that we all have different styles which makes
us all unique among the DBZ web community. My biggest competition would have to be firey
of Orange Star High School since we started making music videos at the same time and we
often comment on each other's music videos. There are lots of up and coming music video
makers such as Ramza of DB Blast, taiketsu of DB Taiketsu, and the unknown, yet good
RampageGT.
Q: Anything new happening to your site in the future and if so can you tell us what is
going to happen?
A: As of now... I have no idea.
Q: Finally, for the last question. Let us revert back to the mailbag section. Out of all
your IM conversations, who gets the idiot of the year award? I am thinking either Gen
Wedge or MajinVegetassj3.
A: I'd say MajinVegetaSSJ3 because he's incredibly stupid, stubborn, and has no sense of
dignity whatsoever.
andy- Sorry, that this hasn't been the best interview. It has been fun though, I am
glad you had the time to do it.
Castor Troy- That's ok, I'm glad I had to chance to be interviewed.
