One of the best things about watching the original series is the music. Yes, the music. Now you may ask yourself "Now wait a minute, with all the fighting and dialogue how do you have time to listen to the music?". Well the music sets the mood for the scene, even if you are unsure of what is going on you can listen to the music and get the jist of the scene. The music is one of those things which is a constant throughout the whole series. What I mean by this is even if you are watching a boring episode the music is still good. So what is so special about the Japanese music compared to the American music. Well the Japanese music is so filled with emotion, feeling, and heart that after you listen to it you feel a great feeling all through out your body. It is amazing how music can get to you, well the Japanese music does it the best.

So now why is it criticized? The reason is because people are afraid of what they do not understand and to make up for this fear they make fun of something to make it look bad. So I guess a song in a different language is something they would not understand. There have been many times when I have been listening to a CD and one of my friends gave me a funny look or a snicker. My family thinks that it is pretty funny and will laugh at it. That is everyone's problem though. They do not want to listen to something because they are afraid to give it a chance. There has been many times when I would walk into my living room to watch TV and my dad was there. So what was he watching, some war documentary or war movie. Yet I showed respect and did not laugh at it. Sometimes I would stay and sometimes I would go, but a lot of those movies and documentaries I liked a lot and would watch them more than once. I guess it comes to respect also. If you do not like something the least you could do was respect it.

I have noticed that a lot of dubbies do not like the Japanese music. Is that because FUNimation has implanted in there mind that Dragonball Z needs to have a rock theme to it.....maybe. Am I saying that all dubbies hate it....no. Am I saying that if you go out and order all the CD's you will no longer be a dubbie ( the music has nothing to do with whether or not you are a dubbie)...no. I am just saying that the music is consistent and if you want a great feeling that will make you smile and be happier then that is what the Japanese music will do to you.
