This message was released July 10, by Score:  "Score Entertainment announced today that it will concentrate the company’s Dragon Ball Z Trading Card Game (TCG) efforts on the Dragon Ball Z TCG fan community and events. The company also announced that it will discontinue the starter and booster sets scheduled for July and November in order to accommodate the shift.

The Dragon Ball Z property has been a major building block for Score Entertainment for the past six years,” says Mike Anderson, the Vice President of Sales for Score Entertainment. “The market is saturated right now and we want to make sure that the Dragon Ball Z TCG fan is not overwhelmed with product and that our faithful fan and player communities are supported to the fullest.”

Score Entertainment is planning to focus its support on the playing community and events such as the Dragon Ball Z World Championship at Gen Con Indy on August 11 and 12, the Grand Kai Invitational event in November, as well as events throughout the convention season."  Feel free to head over to the DBZ message board if you want to discuss this.

Friday, May 05, 2006  The “Transformation” set of action figures by Jakks will ship on the 15th of May. They will start appearing on retail shelves roughly 3 weeks thereafter. Each of the six figures (Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Gohan, Trunks, and Frieza) will have a DBZ TCG card featuring the same character inserted into the packaging. A seventh Broly figure will be made with unique paints exclusively for Score Entertainment.  The final product of all Jakks insert cards will be foiled.  Here's an exclusive Sneak Peek at Gohan - Heroic Son. Friday, April 28, 2006  We get out of this week with Goku, Super Saiyan at Last Lv. 3 from Transformation as our Card of the Day. Mr. Buu and GDK have the last words on this guy.

"Dragon Ball's Revolution - Nintendo's console is taking cosplay to a whole new level:  A Dragon Ball fighting game may not have been what you expected to see on Revolution, but Atari's already hard at work on Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2, a remote-enhanced sequel to the fighting game 1UP's PlayStation partners-in-crime OPM scored three out of five discs when it was released last year.  Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 will, of course, play a differently because of the controller. How exactly it will work is difficult to explain in a press release, but the company says "gamers will be able to play in a very physical way, mimicking several of the show's most popular character moves and pull off awesome combos and attacks."

The game will also apparently make use of two Revolution controllers simultaneously in order to perform special moves. Atari claims players will use both hands to unleash attack such as Goku's Kamehameha. Atari's looking to ship the game this holiday season, falling in line with expectations Nintendo will release Revolution sometime in November" - source ... IGN

Tuesday, February 14, 2006  FUNimation Entertainment Announces the Return of Dragon Ball Z to Cartoon Network - FORT WORTH, Texas, Feb. 13 - FUNimation announced today that Dragon Ball Z returns to week-night programming on Cartoon Network. The popular anime series arrives in its new programming slot tonight and will air Mondays through Thursdays at 10:30 p.m. ET.  "We are excited that Dragon Ball Z is coming back to week-night programming on Cartoon Network and that fans will again be able to enjoy their favorite anime series each night," explained Gen Fukunaga, president and CEO of FUNimation Entertainment. - source

Monday, February 06, 2006  The PSP is going Super Saiyan! - "Dragonball Z: Shin Budokai" is set to debut in March.  The game is being developed by Dimps, the team behind the previous Dragon Ball Z Budokai titles. This game will feature wireless multiplayer play. Players will have the ability to create virtual tournaments and battle for bragging rights. - More details from 1up, Gamespot, & Yahoo.
