Today's Generation by: ssj4gokuh
Today I am writing to express an opinion in which I have felt very strongly lately. I will admit that there are a lot of idiot's out there. They swear, steal, and so on and yes that gets me mad. Now more than ever I am noticing page piracy and a generation that does not want to take the time and spend the money to create quality work. They are full of more excuses and vulgar language then creativity and knowledge. Now what am I referring to is the making of a Dragonball web page. Lately I have noticed a very large put down when it comes to the Internet community that is involved in Dragonball. What I mean is mailbag section's (actually I find the mailbag very interesting), the letter that was posted on Planet Namek that came from Karin Tower, and just comments in general. First thing I have to ask is why do dubbies feel they know everything. They watch the 95 or so episodes that FUNimation has released and then feel that they are loaded with the knowledge to go out and tell people when they are wrong and what is right. When in the reality the FUNimation released Dragonball is farther away from the original than ever and just starting to get better. So now these dubbies loaded with "knowledge" go out and educate the world (excuse me well I laugh). So they basically just tell you that you suck, use some bad grammar, and then harass you repeatedly. Wow what a life they must half. So it really does sicken me to see that these newbies can show no respect. What is up with this generation. I guess it just comes down to respect, something's kids just don't seem to have anymore. Where is this most present? Well if you go to either VegettoEX's page or Castor Troy's (Vegeta Insane) and look at the mailbag. Just look at one of the IM conversation's for starters. Basically some kid just comes out of the blue and says how much the web master sucks and that his site is a million times better. Wow how bold, and this is why? Kids feel that because they are on the Internet they are untouchable and can do/ say whatever they want...well someday they will regret being so bold. Below I have inserted a letter I received as a reply from Meri of "Temple O' Trunks".
Thanks for your letter, and I must say, I totally agree with you. I'm sick and tired of ignorant little newbies that think they know all, and on top of that, steal the knowledgeable web master's work. It really is frustrating. As I always say "what's the matter with kids today!?" Because of Stupid People on the 'net today, I have been prompted to make a section of the same name on my page. I felt guilty at first for bashing such fools, but then I realized, they bring it on themselves and they deserve it, that's all I gotta say! Thank you for taking the time to write to us web masters! Hopefully, the other guys will agree with you, too. =)
After you read what she had to say you will notice that we share the same opinions. I hear a lot that kids now-a-days are lazy and don't want to work for what they want. I never really agreed and it angered me. Well getting into Dragonball has only opened up my eyes to kids now-a-days (Just recently have I really felt it). Well guess what, that pisses me off. People out there work their butts off to have a quality site and then some rude immature person comes along feeling there special and steal from sites. Now a days it is hard to go out and say I am 15. This is why, even though I have been watching Dragonball for sometime and have the original soundtrack's, fansubs, etc... that doesn't mean crap. The reason is because people just see me as another dubbie that doesn't know anything. That is the main thing that just blows my top. Now a days it has become so pathetic that I really don't think that the current generation can ever be turned onto what dragonball is. All they will ever know as is a show with a narrator who sounds like a wrestler, commercial's demoralizing all true DB fans, and corny dialogue ( bummer, in da house, whatever you want big boy). This is not even the true DBZ that so many of us came to love. As a lot know almost all the main DBZ webmaster's are in college. What does that have to do with my argument. Well it proves that they are mature enough to make there own sites, not steal or rip people off. So I have lost all hope ( I thought that FUNimation was hopeless, well compared to today's kid's FUNimation is light years ahead) in teaching or even respecting today's kids. I will now quote all the ignorant newbies out there " They Suck". I sometimes wonder if it is even worth it. I may not have a web site, but I have done my share of work. I look for sites with stolen stuff all the time and then report them, I try to talk to the top webmaster's and FUNimation all the time ( sometimes it works sometimes it does not), I write editorial's about what I am presenting in this editorial all the time. What have I done though, shut down a few sites and change a few opinion's. It isn't enough though. I feel for all the true DBZ fans out there, but we are one trying to change the opinion's of million's. So am I giving up, no I am working harder than ever. And hopefully one day I will be able to look back and say that I have helped educate this generation on not just Dragonball, but on what is right and what is wrong.
