Pojo's Dragonball - What If? What if a "History of Trunks" Saga was made?
Once again, this is the famous
Bryant Bradby straight outta Chesterfield, VA. I have a very important what
if for you that you & the folks at Funimation might like. Of course you
remember the Trunks Saga & The History of Trunks feature that explained
where Future Trunks had come from, stating that in the future of his
alternate reality in the months following the Garlic Jr. Saga, Androids 17 &
18 had killed all the Z Fighters except Gohan & Trunks, etc, etc. What if
the creators of DBZ had when more in depth with that story. We know that if
Trunks hadn't came Goku would've killed Frieza & his dad & would've died of
the heart virus, & that's what happened in Trunks' reality. What if The
H.O.T. feature was stretched into a whole saga in a course of at least 10-20
episodes. It could go a little something like this.

Trunks Saga can be used up to the points where alternate events happen
1)It can start out like the regular Trunks saga,
showing the Z-Fighters training after Garlic Jr's defeat, with Gohan
training in his Namek armor w/ Piccolo & all.
2)Yamcha & Paur would still be chillin' at
Capsule Corp., laughing at Vegeta in his pink shirt
3)The Z-Fighters would suddenly sense a high
power level, thinking it was Goku returning.(recycled footage)
4)They would all meet at the same location in
the mountains somewhere.(recycled footage)
5)Then they would find out that it is Frieza who
was coming.
6)A few moments after Trunks should've came,
Goku would either come & fight Freeza & Kold for a little while to test his
strength, or hurry up & use a instant Kamehameha to finish them. (He would
use I.T. regardless) (Since this is where all the Android mumbo jumbo first
happened, there was no "Trunks" to kill Kold & Son.)
7)Everyone would be amazed at Goku's power
level.
8)Goku would then explain how he escaped from
Namek. (recycled footage)
9)The Z fighters would've went home sooner
because they didn't have to wait two hours for Goku to come because he came
sooner thanks to I.T. because he didn't sense Trunks' powerlevel when Trunks
killed Kold & son like in the regular timeline because there was no Trunks
to kill Kold & son in this one, before Goku transported to earth but
decided to use the ship to go to earth because Freeza was killed (in the
regular timeline).
10)They also would've went home sooner because
they didn't know about the Androids so they didn't take extra time to
discuss what to do about them. Goku would notice baby Trunks & that whole
scene would still happen before everyone left(recycled footage)
11)A lot of meaningful fillers would happen,
taking up a few episodes.
12)Since they didn't know about the Androids,
the ZFighters wouldn't have trained as hard. Goku would still train to be
the best but not for the Androids & Vegeta would probably still use the
Gravity machine, but not as much, to try to surpass Goku.
13)After 3 years pass, The Z-fighters would go
about their lives, but would then either hear some ruckus on the news & go &
find Android 19 & Gero & everything would pretty much go the same except
they didn't know that this was going to happen, & they only knew that they
were androids from hearing the news or Gero would tell them, or they would
just go on about their daily lives. But let's say 19 & 20 did show up.
14) Goku would choose to fight Android 19 while
the other Zwarriors would step back & watch.(recycled footage from regular
Androids saga)
15)While Goku was fighting, Piccolo & Gohan
would start to notice that Goku was getting tired but that's it (because
they didn't know of the Heart Virus)
16)The heart virus would suddenly worsen, Goku
would stop fighting, & the ZFighters would be shocked (Recycled Footage) &
continue to be shocked but not as shocked because once again they didn't
know about the virus.
17)19 would notice this opportunity and start
pounding on Goku, Goku would still fight back like in the regular timeline,
but would eventually tire out more(recycled footage).
18)Krillin would throw Goku a senzu
bean,(THIS would be the first time Gero would learn of the senzu beans) he
would eat it & recover to the point before the heart virus started effecting
him.
19)Goku would fight longer but would tire down
again, but would still be winning better than before until the heart virus
had started effecting him more, Krillin would try to throw him another bean
but Gero would use this opportunity to destroy the bag, seeing how Goku
healed last time.
20)The Z Fighters would be shocked & Goku would
still fight but would worsen to the point where 19 would have Goku pinned to
the ground, absorbing his energy until he loss Super Saiyan (recycled
footage).
21)Goku would get more energy sucked out of them
until Vegeta had made his dramatic entrance by kicking 19 out the
way.(recycled footage)
22)From the point where Vegeta would say Goku's
too soft to be a Saiyan to where he would turn Super Saiyan (note:he
was a super saiyan in the Trunks feature when 18, you know) & lecture on how
he achieved the form would happen. note:He had still trained during the 3
years before the Androids arrival, training in the Gravity Machine & in
space, but he wouldn't have trained as hard but would summon just enough
power to become a Super Saiyan thanks to his training).
23)Vegeta would kick Goku to Yamcha & he would
take Goku to Goku's house.(recycled footage, but Vegeta wouldn't say "hurry
up & give Kakkorot that medicine")
24)Vegeta would begin his amazing fight against
19. Notice I said AMAZING........ FIGHT, not massacre like in the regular
timeline because Vegeta would just be just above android 19 but would still
influence them that he was too strong for the android.
25)The fight would continue & 19 would start to
grab onto Vegeta's arms & absorb his energy. Vegeta would then put his feet
on 19's face & push away.
26)The struggle would continue up to when Vegeta
was breaking free of 19's grip. Vegeta would struggle to break free some
more, then 19 would say he will never let go.
27)Vegeta would struggle a little more then he
would still use his cool line "That's the spirit android, NEVER SAY DIE!"
then he would start to grunt some more,then manage to free himself by
ripping 19's arms off. He would barely manage to break free and I mean
BARELY, to the point where he would almost lose Super Saiyan.
28) Afterwards Vegeta would take a look at 19
broken hands & thrown them aside(recycled footage, except Vegeta would be
sweating more)
29) 19 would still run away. Vegeta, still be a
Super Saiyan when he flew up & start breathing really hard but would muster
enough energy for his Big Bang Attack & kill android 19.
30)Vegeta would've been tired throughout the
fight but would still land safely on his feet & breathe hard & power down
and TRY to make it look like he was eager to fight Dr Gero,
but Dr Gero had watched the whole fight carefully and had noticed Vegeta's
tiredness throughout his struggle with 19 and would see through Vegeta's
bluff & start to fight him.
31)Vegeta would barely manage against Dr Gero in
his normal state but would eventually wear down, due to the other Z
Fighter's lack of training, they would all step in to help Vegeta.
32)They would barely gain the advantage, then
Bulma's nosey tail would show up.
33)Dr Gero would eventually gain the opportunity
to angerly tell the Z Fighters about androids 17 & 18 before blowing up the
area as a distraction for his escape.
34)Since the senzu beans were destroyed, Vegeta
would've just been taken back for heeling, while ALL the other Z Fighter
went back to check on Goku (& not follow Dr Gero & kill him before he
activates the other Androids because Yamcha was already at Roshi's attending
to/guarding/protecting Goku, BAD MISTAKE)
35)Dr Gero would have made it back to the lab to
recuperate while the Z Fighters were at Roshi's, grieving over Goku's
current sickness.
36)They had discussed how to get Goku better,
but nothing worked, Goku was just waiting there to die.
37)After that meeting, the Z Fighters would try
to search for Gero's lab thanks to Bulma, but could never find it due to
Gero's lack of sensing energy or his illusion that made it look like the RR
Lab door wasn't there.
38) So the Z Fighters went back home, angry that
they could'nt find Gero & his lab & Piccolo would say that who knows how
powerful these new androids are, then the Zwarriors would train some more
but not as nearly because they didn't know that they were going to be this
much powerful as Gero & 19.
39) So we fast forward a few days (episodes) and
the Z Fighters continue to train and wonder about the androids. By this
time Vegeta would've healed and started training. Bulma would then try to
stop Vegeta & you know the rest. The Z Fighters would progress but wouldn't
be as strong as their normal timeline counterparts, 17 & 18 would be weaker
in this reality, but would still be a little more than a match for the
Z-Fighters.
40) Non-boring filler (such as footage showing
Goku's condition getting worse while a sadder Chi Chi grieves & wines about
it, because they have no way of healing him, mostly recycled footage)
41)A few weeks (episodes) later Vegeta would
wake up & he, Bulma, & the other ZFighters would get a call from Chi-Chi
saying that Goku's condition was very bad, I mean coughing up blood, they
probably didn't show it in the History of Trunks movie.
42)Extended footage from the beginning of the
History of Trunks movie would be shown such as the Z Fighters arriving at
Goku's while Gohan was on his way.
43)Vegeta would then step out and go somewhere
in front of the building near a lake.
44)This episode would end after a few more
scenes, with shots of Gohan noticing Goku's energy fading & getting ready to
go see him, & the next episode would begin with the 2nd DBZ opening playing
with Porunga rising out of the water & different Frieza & Garlic Jr saga
clips shown & what not. The recap of the past few episodes would then show
then the episode itself would begin like the beginning of the History of
Trunks feature. Gohan would be shown running down a lake & Oolong noticing
him. The recycled scene from the beginning of T.H.O.T. feature would be
stretched out to include some cruel scenes, sad dialogue, sad backgroud
music to accompany the scenes, & extra scenes to fill in the rest of the
episode. Then the episode would show baby Trunks crying, Bulma trying to
calm him w/a very sad look on her face, & Gohan arriving in Goku's room,
only to find Goku dead while Chi Chi's apologizing. ("Gohan I'm so sorry")
We would then be cut to the scene where Krillin just senses & states
"Heeeee's,.... Gone, Goku's Gone", while the Z-Fighters stand shocked, while
Vegeta sensed that Goku's dead saying Kakkorot, NO! (recycled footage, but
with extended scenes).
45) This episode would end like the movie began
with Goku passing away with the wind blowing by, indicating that he's
dead, but with this episode ending with the announcer giving a eulogy
similar to Majin Vegeta's when he killed himself. The episode would end
with the announcer giving a closing eulogy similar to the one in the movie,
except he would use different dialogue about the androids leading up to him
saying "Stay tuned to the next (adjective needed) episode of DragonBall Z!"
46)The episode would just end with the end
credits w/o a next episode preview.
47)The next episode would start as usual with
the opening then recap. The episode would begin with the next scene having
Goku's body taken away, then a few weeks would pass. All the Z Fighters
would be at Goku's funeral held at Mount Palz (where Grandpa Gohan's house
is).
48)Everyone would head back home & more
(fitting) fillers would be shown.
49)We would be cut to a scene where Dr Gero
would finally decide to activate androids 17 & 18.
50)Android Saga recycled footage of Dr Gero's
death would be shown except for the fact that the ZFighters wouldn't be
there.
51)The Z Warriors would all be chillin somewhere
in different places when suddenly an explosion happened in West City (You
Guessed It) then a filler scene would show then the Z-Fighters would prepare
to find out where the explosion came from. Gohan would be forced to stay
home. The Z-Fighters would still be searching for the duo because they
can't sense their energy while Piccolo states that they should stick
together because they don't know how strong these androids are. They would
soon find the ZFighters. For some reason, the humans would stand back while
Piccolo prepares to fight the Android duo.
52)The Z-Fighters fight scenes with the androids
would last ALOT longer unlike in the movie. As in the movie, Piccolo would
be the first to fight the Androids. 17 and 18 would find him somewhere in
the grass area & jump him. Piccolo would get then get a spare minute to
take off his hat & turban. 17 & 18 would stand w/ their arms crossed &
smile while piccolo would catch alot of breath while 17 would ask him is he
ready. Piccolo would be shocked.
53)More (rather decent) filler footage would be
shown of Piccolo trying to put up a good fight against the androids but to
no avail.
54)The trio would then stand by for a few
seconds then 18 would get tired & start to fight Piccolo w/very fast paced
movement & kick Piccolo very hard on the back of his neck.
55)Some very fitting background music would play
while slowed down footage would be shown of Piccolo falling down on his
knees & lying, dead (remember he hadn't fused w/Kami yet, he wasn't going to
do it yet anyway because Cell hadn't showed up yet in this reality, but
anyway).
56)Vegeta would've just showed up, sensing
Piccolo's energy fading.
57)After witnessing Piccolos onslaught, 18 would
give Vegeta a cocky look that would scare him at first, then he would get
angry & you would hear some cool background music while Vegeta gets more
angry & turns Super Saiyan.
58)Now amagine in the regular timeline (where
you know that the ZFighters had trained for the Androids) when Vegeta fought
18, the fight looked at first because 18 was toying around with Vegeta.
Then she was nice enough and roundhouse-kicked & just broke Vegeta's arm.
Now amagine how this fight in Trunks' reality is going to look when Vegeta
had trained just enough to become a Super Saiyan. The androids just got
through with tenderizing then killing Piccolo. Do you think that they are
going to waste that much more time, to monkey around with Vegeta.
59)Anyway, Vegeta turns Super Saiyan and starts
to fight the androids. The androids would know from their data banks that
Vegeta's stronger than Piccolo, so they would test Vegeta's Super Saiyan
strength, anyway.
60)Vegeta would think he would be gaining the
advantage by knocking away the duo with some energy attacks & what not, only
to find out that none of this is making any effect on them.
61) Vegeta would stand shocked at this then 18
would just get tired & punch Vegeta, REAL hard in his chest slowly, then
stop, then punch real hard again multiple times until he had lost Super
Saiyan and dropped down dead.
62)Tein, Chiaoutzu, Krillin, & Yamcha would be
shocked at Vegeta's demise & would and, their dumb tails would decide to go
fight the androids.
63)Chiaoutzu would charge at the android 18 only
to be decentegrade by one energy blast.
64)17 would then be toying around with Krillin
the whole time while Tein would stand their, shocked while Yamcha tried to
put up a good fight.
(note:now remember in the
Imperfect/Perfect Cell saga in the regular timeline was trying to stall Cell
so 16 & 18 could get away)
65)Krillin is still fighting 17, while Yamcha is
quickly losing to eithteen.
66)Tien is still standing in the same spot but
soon realizes to himself that he doesn't really stand a chance against the
deady duo. So while 18 kicks Yamcha's neck (probably breaking it) & kills
him, they suddenly stop, realizing that Tien is right above him, desperately
gather enough energy for his Tri-Beam attack.
67)Tien-"You..... killed my friends, take this
you fools, Tri Beam.... HAAAAAA!!!!!!"
68)Tien's Tri Beam would be barely affecting
both of the androids like it did Cell in the regular timeline but would
barely hold them. Tien would barely have enough strength while he's fireing
his attack to tell Krillin to "get away, you wont survive!", but Krillin
would be too frightened, and stupid to escape.
69)Eventually Tien would get tired from his
multiple Tri Beams & stop, while the androids stand there, hovering above a
huge plot hole, angry at Tien for ruining their clothes.
70)17 would then teleport in front of Tien &
kick him, then 18 would teleport above & punch Tien to the ground. Tien
would get up while 18 teleported down, & caved Tien's chest in, DEEPLY,
killing them.
71)While this was happened Krillin had managed
to escape only a few fight from where Tien was killed, only to have the
androids see & teleport in front of him.
72)There would be a brief silence pause while
Krillin was shaking in his boots, frightened.
73)The Androids had then proceeded to kill
Krillin with a double finger beam like in the movie.
74)Later on Bulma would hear on the news that
all of Earth's special forces had perished at the hands of the killer
androids, who have continued to run amuk accross the globe.
75)Bulma would be horrified as well as Gohan and
Chi-Chi.
76)Roshi, Oolong, Turtle, & Puar would later
hear about the news on the radio.
77)A few filler episodes with meaningful scenes
would take place(such as Gohan deciding to train to fight the androids &
baby Trunks growing up & learning of the androids).
78)A new episode would begin a few years down
the road with the androids destroying cities & innocent lives while the rest
of the ZFamily hearing of the losses on the news.
79)Later Gohan would start to train some more
while Trunks would watch.
80)Down the road, Bulma, Chi-Chi, & everyone
else would get older, Gohan would slowly get stronger after training while
Trunks would watch & quickly learn to fly & use energy.
81)All this (78-80) would take place around the
time where the Bojack Unbound movie susposed to have taken place (after the
Cell Games), Gohan would have his mullet cut & he would train & finally
reach Super Saiyan.
82)A little afterwards Gohan would find the
androids & his fight w/the two would be just like Vegeta's first fight w/18
in the regular timeline. Gohan would eventually be beaten, but would return
home to heal.
83)I am sorry but a few more filler scenes would
happen.
84)Gohan would eventually unwillingly give it a
rest after a few more cracks at the androids & stand by & continue to train.
85)A few years later, during the time where
the (approx) seven year time gap between where Goku suppose to have taken
Uub away to train & the beginning of GT suppose to have taken place, half of
the world's populace has been wiped out, & Gohan had been at the androids,
neck & neck for years, while Gohan slowly gets stronger but remains even
with the duo.
86) Around this time is where the middle of the
History of Trunks saga is supposed to take place, where 17 & 18 decide to go
to the amusement park and reck havoc.
87)Some more filler scenes happen until we are
cut to a scene where Trunks & a much older (but not as old as her regular
timeline DBGT counterpart is) Bulma is just hearing about the travesty on
the radio (& that whole submarine scene with Roshi & the animals is shown
somewhere in this).
note: that these last few
episodes would consist of extended scenes of the rest of the History of
Trunks movie
88)As in the movie Trunks leaves Bulma to go to
the reckage scene only to arrive too late. He starts to mourn over the
people's death when suddenly Gohan arrives.
89)And preaty much everything that happens from
this point on, goes pretty much the same as in the movie feature, in a
course of 3-5 more episodes where Gohan trains Trunks to become a Super
Saiyan, Gohan fights the androids, & loses his left arm, Gohan continues to
train Trunks & fights the androids.
90)Trunks wakes up from being knocked
unconscious (by Gohan) & after finding Gohan dead, turns Super Saiyan.
91)As you already know, Trunks goes to fight the
Androids,gets beaten badly, Bulma is shown picking Trunks
up & takes him back to Capsule Corp. for recovery.
92)Trunks decides to use the time machine (to go
back into another reality's past) after he heals.
93)The whole Bulma & the"hope" scene happens &
Bulma says her goodbyes as Trunks goes back.
94)The announcer gives a closing eulogy and
we're then given a preview of the next episode of Dragon Ball Z that takes
place during the "regular" Trunks saga, and you know all the rest.
