Q: Well, female, web site, and Dragonball are three
words you don't often hear used in the same sentence. What do you think about what I just
said. Do you feel that by being a female you add more to your DB web site expieriences?
A: No, I don't think it should really make a difference to the visitor. Quite often,
though, it does. Why would it seem that, because I'm female, I'm not a real Dragon Ball
fan or webmistress? Sometimes I do wonder about that. I feel that girls can create just as
good DB webpages as a guy who makes a Pretty Solider Sailor Moon webpage. I personally
know some guys who like Sailor Moon, and I totally agree that it's neither a girl's or
boy's show (just like Dragon Ball). It sure does seem like it sometimes.
Q:What made you decide to create your site around Videl?
A: Well, I liked Videl when I first saw her in movie 12, Rebirth of Fusion. She was
polite, yet she could kick butt! I got some more tapes with her, infact the very first
apperance, and I knew that she was a definate candidate for a webpage. I couldn't find any
sites with more than a paragraph or two of info, and maybe a picture. (NOTE= I do know now
that there are a couple other good Videl sites, like Bideru no Hikari and Videl's Eternal
Moments) She's also one of the main female Dragon Ball characters, and she eventually
marries Son
Gohan! Her daughter, Pan, is another one of my favorite characters, but I haven't seen GT
so I couldn't make a webpage for her.
Q:Videl vs. what other female would be the best fight?
A: Definatly Android #18. She's the only one who could give Videl a workout. Of course,
#18 does have the advantage over Videl. #18 can do Ki blasts, and she's an android. Videl
only has her flying and punches and kicks. One thing I noticed though, Kamesen'nin can't
fly yet he can do Ki blasts. Videl can't do Ki blasts yet she can fly. What's up with
that?
Q:So what did you think about season 3?
A: Let's just say it was better at the end than at the beginning. I HATED Captain Ginyu's
new voice, but I thought that the fact that I could see blood was amazing. Goku's VA was
also very crummy in the beginning. He made Goku grunt a lot. Goku doesn't grunt! I thought
that they did do the Super Saiya-Jin transformation quite good. Goku's VA did get better,
though, and by the time Freeza got sliced by his own kienzan I thought it was pretty good
interpertation of Goku's character.
Q:Was it what you expected?
A: In the beginning, no. Too much *ahem* humor was used in the wrong spots. But they got
the right idea and by the SSJ transformation the jokes were saved for King Kai (who's
voice, by the way, STINKS!) and where they belong.
Q:Do you know if your page has been subject to page piracy?
A: Yes, one person stole my fan-art (Vegeta642) but his page has since shut down. Another
person stole most of my Videl pics, but I think it's just cause it's a younger person. I
dunno. (Videl's Drag(*)n Ball Z page = http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Highrise/1647)
Q: What are your thoughts on page piracy?
A: I think that it's bad. Who wants to see the same old information and pictures repeated?
Especially with things like movies and fan-art. It's like printing up the exact same book
and taking credit for it! It's just wrong. Sometimes it's not the persons fault, though.
When I first started with making web sites, I went into a DBZ chat room and asked if
anyone knew Goku's power level during his fight with Recoome. Someone sent me the entire
list from Planet Namek (but I didn't know that at the time). I, thinking 'WOW I have Power
Levels!', put them up and I got flamed so bad! I didn't know they were stolen so I was
innocent, and I took down the page.
Q:Your younger brother seems to be quite the character, any comments?
A: Yes, he has this thing because my page is more popular than his. So he goes and tries
to sabotage mine. Anyone that wants to, please e-mail him at: TuxP3@aol.com and tell him that Zandra doesn't appreciate
that sort of thing on her webpage! As you may have noticed, I like to make an ass out of
people who think they can get away with that kind of thing.
Q: Why did you create a web site?
A: There's no real reason, but I really wanted a site as popular as VegettoEX's (Yeah like
that's going to happen anytime soon =P). I also wanted to display my art. Things just came
after that, like an actual theme to my site. I like to work on the computer and I'm fairly
good with HTML so it made making this page fun!
Q: You are a case that not a lot see. A younger teen who can come along and create an
original site with good ideas. Do you
feel that this should be the case with all teens, do you think that today's teens have any
respect?
A: It depends on who you ask. I think that some do, and some don't. It always seems that
the female visitors are nicer, and a tad bit smarter (no offense to those smart guys out
there ^^;). Of course, there will always be those morons who bother people with bad
grammer, *dumb* questions ("When are you going to update?!" Whenever I feel like
it.) and stupid comments ("Yur pg sux, cum vist mine itz kool!!!" If you can't
spell then it can't be that cool.)
Q: What is your favorite DBZ movie?
A: Tie between Movies 12 and 13. 12 is great, because it has comedy, action and Videl!
13 is also good because the plot is so well done. Some DBZ movies just don't have a plot
at all (Movie 11, anybody?). Plus, I love Goku's Dragon Fist Attack! It's just so cool to
watch! Not to mention SSJ 3 Gotenks and the Great Saiyamen!
Q:Are your favorite DBZ pages character shrines or all around sites?
A: Well, my absolute favorite site is "Temple O' Trunks", which is a character
shrine, but most of my favorites are all-around sites that offer lots of news. I always
check out Planet Namek, because they are very trust-worthy (I bought some of my fansubs
from them). Mostly I'll just search around from links on other DB sites.
Q: Pokemon...a fad or here to stay?
A: Pokemon is definatly a fad for the littler kids to get into. I used to like
Pokemon a lot before it got real popular. I even got the starter deck for the card game in
January of '99. Then it just seemed to get too commercial, like it was done all for the
money. I still have my cards (including a 1st-edition Venusaur and Raichu) and the Viz
Comics, but I haven't bought any toys or tapes or things like that.
Q:You say that you have never watched any "real" anime, what do you consider to
be "real" anime?
A: "Real" anime is anime that I did not get interested in because of a
mainstream dub. Tenchi Muyo!, and Mononoke Hime are the only anime titles that I have seen
that were not played on TV. My friend Erin (AKA Celinra AKA Vegeta531) showed me those and
I am very grateful! Thank you Celinra! I was shown Ranma 1/2 by my friend Steve. My other
anime loving friend Joanna (who moved away -_-) wants to show me Slayers, but untill we
get together I have to wait.
Q: If if could decide the opening theme for Dragonball what theme song would you choose?
A: "We Gotta Power"! I love that song! It makes me want to sing! NO-TEN P-KAN!
Ahem, anyways That would be the opening song and "Bokutachi wa Tenshi Datta"
would be the closing song. (It's so sad at the end with Goku as an angel... sniff ;_;)
andy- Well you are 14, but holding your own. I thank you very much for your time and
hope that your site does well in the future.
Zandra-Your welcome, and I hope that this interview may change the way that people think
about female Dragon Ball webmasters. Or should I say, webmistress? ^^; I hope that your
site does well also.
