King of Lullaby Hello Pojo Fans, Dragonmaid Send-Off welcomes us rather than sends us off for this CoTD. Quick-Play that works works for summoning from your hand at any point in the turn. Technically a -1 until effect(s) activate. While the monster is summoned in defense, it can’t be killed until the end of your next turn, almost guaranteeing you will have a protective wall in front of you. This is a fantastic card to trigger the smaller Dragonmaid monsters and then pop them back to Special Summon your bigger dragons, or summon the big dragons and get the smaller ones. It doesn’t matter if you have one of the smaller Dragonmaids holding down the fort either, the protection against all destruction forces your opponent to either commit to getting rid of your Dragonmaid by using non-destruction, or allow you to pop it back to Special Summon during your turn. If you don’t have another Dragonmaid in your hand aside from the one you summon, the destruction protection helps stall until your next turn. Also, this helps you get out a Dragonmaid of your choosing in case you wanted something other than the counterpart to the Dragonmaid that is currently on the field. Crunch$G It’s been a hot minute since we’ve looked at any Special Edition promos, so here we are with the Chaos Impact promos and some of the last ones since they’re discontinuing Special Editions for now. We saw Dragonmaids a few weeks ago, and now we got some new support in Dragonmaid Send-Off. Send-Off is a Quick-Play Spell that upon activation lets you target a Dragonmaid you control to Special Summon a differently named Dragonmaid from your hand in Defense Position and then return the targeted monster to the hand with the monster summoned off this card having protection from being destroyed by battle or card effects until the end of the next turn. The first bit is nice to swap from a Dragonmaid to another to hopefully cycle through your Deck or to get a Dragonmaid’s dragon form back to the hand if you weren’t able to successfully use its effect to bounce to resummon the maid form. I doubt you’ll want to summon a dragon form with this most of the time since it goes to Defense Position, but that battle/effect destruction protection makes the maids safer to get onto the field in the case you can’t swap it out for a dragon form. It’s a decent card for the archetype, and it’ll be searchable soon, so a copy or two couldn’t hurt. Advanced Rating: 3.5/5 Art: 4/5 Who’s leaving? This maybe would of made more sense if it was the last Dragonmaid card, but we know we’re getting more. |
Alex Searcy A piece of Dragonmaid support kicks things off this week. Dragonmaid Send-Off is a Quickplay Magic card. This card enables you to Target a Dragonmaid you control and Special Summon one of a different name from your Hand, in defense position. If successful, the Targeted Monster that started this chain of events is returned to your Hand. That makes this a -1 on the surface, with the Monster swap, but losing this card. You are, however, provided immunity from Battle and Card Effect destruction until the End of the next turn for that Monster after playing this card. Which is really cool, and being a Quickplay, even though you can only use one of these per turn, you could use one on your turn, and then on the opponent’s as well, so shortening the wait time between activation. It’s a good cyclical card for the theme. It’s not game breaking, but it’s by no means bad, either. Being Quickplay gives it uses both offensively and defensively, and I appreciate that in a card as well. Rating: 3.25/5 Art: 4/5 The name is appropriate, but I’m not sure I get much of a Send-Off here. Unless they’re in the preparing phase maybe? Almost like they’re offering Tribute? |
