Genteel Husk

Hrmmm.... That's it. Hrmmmmm.....

This is a tricky figure, really. He does have so much promise, but there are some major issues for Husky here. 5FFF is WAY too much for those stats; he should have at LEAST one more power to even be considered particularly good, though an extra point or two in D&L would probably be better. Dominate though, that's the reason anyone would play him. Just being able to automatically claim conquest points even for a cell that has way more enemy creatures than you do is very, very nice.

The way I see it, he doesn't cut it at the moment. If they ever come up with a piece that can teleport Fear creatures or something though, his playability would definitely skyrocket. As I said, Genteel Husk has promise, but it's not quite ready to meet that promise just yet... maybe Baxar's War or whatever is after that will have something to help him out, but until then... nahh.

Constructed: 2/5 If a good teleporter or something comes along, he'll definitely be a 4, assuming a better Dominator doesn't come out before then.
Limited: 2/5 Eh, only if you really don't have anything else, but I would definitely curse the gods of dreamblade pulls if I really had to consider him.

5FFF
Power: 2
Defense: 5

Today we look at Fear in Formalwear. The Genteel Husk steps onto the DreamScape with polish and stands toe-to-toe with anything and wins its cell -- so long as he can keep that Martini stirred, not shaken. For a 5-drop, his Power of 2 is not going to blow anybody away. Maybe he should trade that Walther PPK in for a .44 Magnum. With a Defense/Life of 5/6 his staying power is mediocre. What makes this agent of espionage worth his spawn is his ability. Dominate allows him to score any cell he occupies, even if it is contested. Move this guy up to the 5-cell and start racking up the conquest. Better yet, use an Asylum Escapee to get him into position in a hurry. His weakpoint is that he is a fairly easy kill, so it may be worth considering teaming him with a bodyguard. In the current build, this would require a Fear/Valor band, which opens up a lot of nice choices including ChessMaster variants. Based on personal experience using the Genteel Husk, he can make all the difference in tightly contested matches and provide the difference that allows you to win turns when neither player can gain an advantage over his opponent. The sculpt, a refined gentlemen in tux, sprouting tentacles and tiny angel wings from his back, is just fun.

Constructed: 3.5/5 (This is a supplimental piece. It will not figure prominently in your overall strategy, but can help put you over the top on key turns.)

Sealed: 2.5/5 (Definitely worth playing if you can pull it off, but the triple aspect makes it tough.)
