WINDBORNE BLADEMASTER
Behold, for now that we have covered most of
what needs to be covered of Chrysotic Plague, we
bounce back toward the hidden gems that Core Set
left us with. Today is one of them, which is in
my opinion the best 11 cost piece for Madness
(although Octrilla has the looks, this guy is
just kick a$$...he is a kite). Either way, he
has the 6 power which is standard for most
finishers that are not Passion. Now with that
comes 6/14 stats. 14 is incredibly hard to kill,
and odds are, this guy will keep getting
disrupted, but will never die. Thing is, with
all Madness guys being disrupted, you are not
going to generate alot of spawn points. Waiting
for a 5 and a 6 to be rolled for initiatives is
wishful thinking. Now he has two single blade
effects. One is Crit 5, which is decent, but
other finishers this game has to offer has that
and more (Little Charmer, Noble Dragon) all for
an extra spawn point. However, they have pieces
in their aspect of smaller costs that die easily
for the spawn. Now the other, Dissipate, is
unique to this guy. While disrupting him anyway
might be a bad thing, it can prove to be useful
in scenarios where a deathblow might kill him,
or in an area in which you would rather not let
your opponent shift-strike and get to trigger
some blade abilities cheaply. Its decent, but
takes skill to hone correctly.
Constructed - 2.5/5 - Its worth a try for curve
Madness, but get it out as soon as possible no
matter what.
Sealed - 3.5/5 - Bumped up rating here, where
spawn points will allow him to see play.
Artwork - 4/5 - He's a kite...
