How in the world can
this card be bad? 7,000 dbl for 5 is just
kinda silly. Yes, once you're beating the crap
out of them, he's no good anymore, but that's not so
bad. :) Just finish them off the turn you drop
all their shields.
I think you'll find most
black decks playing this card.

A 7,000 double
breaker for 5 mana! And I don't have to
sacrifice anyone at all? And it's not an
evolution? Okay ... what's the catch? Ah
... I can't ever attack for the win if my opponent
has no shields. Hmmm ... I certainly can live
with that.

Vashuna, Sword
Dancer
I have been dying for a 5 drop double breaker that
isn't god awful or narrowly focused. Duel Masters
has been teasing us with double breaking power that
early since Base Set. It's about time we get
something decent that isn't strictly for one color
decks. Too many things can kill Deathblade Beetle
after it swings and it can be Tornado Flamed before
it hits.
Explosive Fighter Urcan packs insane power for the 5
spot, but you toast 2 mana to get him out and that
hurts when he's Death Smoked. Gigaberos--lose 2
hitters--um worse than Urcan. Raging Dash
Horn--sweet but only in mono-Nature. General Dark
Fiend--lose a shield to swing--ugh! And then there's
this sword dancing guy Vashuna...
PROS:
#1. 7000 for 5 mana. As far as the 5 spot goes this
power is great. It can house tons of creatures,
overrun lots of blockers, do a little dance, make a
little shield hate, get down tonight.
#2. Double breaker. Not always a super cool
commodity on Darkness guys since they tend to have
huge drawbacks, cost a lot of mana, or require evo
bait, but it's good on this guy.
3. Card art is sweet. Has there been any other time
in history that a guy in puffy pants has looked this
menacing?
CONS:
#1. Can't go with you all the way to the top. Once
your opponent has no shields left, this guy bails on
you. But hey, by that time you'd better have
something to fall back on. You can't put all your
eggs in one basket in this game anyway.
#2. Summoning sickness plus double breaker = Death
Smoke target.
RATING:
4/5. Hopefully this isn't the only guy you have left
in your zone in the late game. He's sweet even with
Death Smoke lurking about.
4/5. Very good here too--double breaking in the 5
spot with 7000 power--yes please. |
