What an interesting
little card. It can only bash critters, but
can bash untapped light critters. If you're
looking to play Darkness Defense, this card fits in
nicely. It will kill a lot of things and do it
well. Honestly, despite it's non-aggro nature,
I like the card immensely, and think it will have a
nice place in future decks. It can function as
a reverse Death Smoke - something that isn't bad for
multiple uses at a 5 drop.
In limited, it's
required. No way I wouldn't play this.

sigh... another anti-light card... woopy doo...
well today we have the second worst anti-light card
of the week Photocide.
this card is a darkness creature that is a 9000 for
5 and it can only attack light creatures (not even
players). well... it is a Ucarn, but its drawback is
worse than Ucarns. This may seem wierd, but I think
a interesting thing you could do with this card is
too play this in a darkness/light dimond cutter deck
(yes i know it sounds wierd but keep with me) and
you could use this, a whole bunch of light/dark
blockers to stall while you have a mongrel man on
the field speeding up your draw power increasing the
chance for you to get dimond cutter, than you could
let away. Another idea is to add jack viper in the
deck so you keep getting your sucky dark monsters
back while drawing cards... well its just a idea..
who knows it could be the new world champ. deck ^.^

constructed- 3.9/5 only because the of the meta and
4.2/5 in my deck idea ^.^
limited- 1.6/5 bombs are great but not if you cant
use them =/
final thought- dont bother with him in tournys

didn't realize that it could attack any creature
plus untapped light creatures, so I change my
ratings to:

Photocide
Well this card suits one purpose. It helps you get
Ballom out faster. Color hate is useless unless your
opponent's are all Light decks. Even so it's not too
impressive considering Gran Gure has just as much
power and minus the drawback. Ballom isn't the
greatest card out there. Sure you kill all
non-darkness creatures, but your opponent can always
recover. A well timed chains of sacrifice can pretty
much do the same thing as Ballom. Anyway this card
isn't too good. I never liked Steel Smasher. So I'm
probably not going to run this card.

Hey everyone! I
think this card is a good addition to a darkness
deck. Light decks are becoming very powerful
thanks to Diamond Cutter, and this card can stop
most Light creatures before they attack. Yeah,
it can't attack players, but it can attack
untapped Light creatures, and with 9000 power,
you can get them before they get you. Of course,
it's nothing special against any other deck,
except that 9000 power can defeat most
creatures. Overall, it's an above average card.
