I see we're getting
into a little cross-color hate. I like it -
makes the decks more fun. This particular
little one keeps your opponent from triggering a
Holy Awe on you - certainly a worthwhile ability.
Unfortunately, that's all it really does. I'm
not convinced that makes him good enough.
Interesting if your local metagame is heavy light,
but otherwise does not tend to make the cut

GIGABOLVER
Currently the Chimera aren't a race of creatures
that instill fear or excitiment in the hearts of
players. After all, this is the race that claims
Gigaberos. But, Gigabolver does have an interesting
effect tailor-made for a predominately Light meta.
Hey, does such a place exist? I wonder...
PROS:
#1. Halts the shield trigger abilities of Light
spells. Light can sometimes starve for a Holy Awe
off the trigger. Could be tons of fun to drop the
turn you're making an attack run following a
Scarlett Skyterror or Crystal Paladin drop.
#2. Fits Darkness' new anti-Light focus in the set.
If you're playing Darkness in a meta that sees a lot
of D-Cut or Tap-heavy decks, then here's a card to
play test. Drop it the turn you're going to finish
off a player--so that Holy Awe doesn't block your
path to victory.
CONS:
#1. As the game stands now, the only Light trigger
spell you hate seeing is Holy Awe. The others are
spell fishers (tho you know that means Cutter or Awe
is coming) or simply taps 1 of your guys.
#2. 3000 for 4 mana means its easy to kill with
spells like Smoke, Flame, Pit, and could die easily
to blocker and other creature hits.
RATING:
2/5. A neat drop at the right moment in the right
meta. |

This seems like one
of those cards that would be great in a sideboard.
If Duel Masters had sideboards like they have in
Magic: The Gathering or YuGiOh, then I could see
this card being something to I'd definitely consider
putting in it. But alas, DM doesn't use sideboards.
Instead, this is totally
a Metagame game card. If Diamond Cutter decks
are all the rage where you play, then I could see
you playing this. 4 for 3,000 certainly isn't
special enough to be playing on it's own. I
guess it depend on how badly
you need it to stop Holy Awe?
The DM-04 set of cards appear to
reward players for playing multiple color decks.
Maybe I'll have different thoughts on this card once
DM-04 is fully released in November.
