Prince
Yaken
Recon Operation
Cost: 2
Civilization: Water
Card Type: Spell
. Look at up to 3 of your opponent's shields. Then put them back where they
were.

Civilization: Just as I had said with Grape Globbo card of the day review,
water is all about manipulation, draw power, field control, and is still one of the dominant mono deck types. Water also holds true to a series of spells and creature effects that let you look at your opponent's shields and/or
hand.

Cost/Abilities: 2 mana cost seems to be in the right neighborhood for Recon
Operation's effect of looking at up to 3 of your opponent's shields. Just as the importance of looking at your opponent's takes a back burner in this
game compared to others, the same appears to be true as far as shields
gazing. The main reason for that besides maintaining card advantage, alot of players use Bolmeteus Steel Dragon to completely negate and Cryptic Totem to partially negate the threat that lies within those 5 shields keeping you
from victory.

Card Efficiency: With the way that decks are currently played this card's
efficiency holds almost no benefits. The majority of decks seem to not pass
the 8-12 shield trigger mark anyway.

Constructed: Until someone shows why it is very important to "shield gaze"
expect this to collect dust for now. 0/5

Limited: With 35 low cost creatures available to rush the opponent in the
Base Set, this card will more than normally become mana. 0/5
