Power/Cost:
Three mana is reasonable. Not too expensive, but
not ridiculously cheap either. So what do we get
in return? A five thousand power beatstick! What
a bargain! Then you read the part where Angry
Maple gets the power boost only while attacking,
so you put it off to the side and pretend you
never got excited in the first place.
Civilization/Race:
The Nature Civilization already has tons of
competition at the three mana spot, which does
not bode well for Angry Maple. Bronze-Arm Tribe,
Mighty Bandit, and even Sword Butterfly are more
efficient candidates.
There
are nine other Treefolk creatures in the game.
They do not have any support at the moment, but
there is a decent evolution coming up in
Thundercharge (the next expansion set). Look for
the Treefolk to become a little more important
with time.
Effects:
Power attacker is not an effect that I like. It
only matters when you are blasting creatures,
but not shields. So you will most likely get one
attack off, maybe to suicide against an opposing
threat. If not, then Angry Maple will almost
certainly be attacked and die on your opponents
turn. Not good at all.

There
are much better options for your deck. Find
something better, then trade Angry Maple away to
a collector who’s crazy about promos and needs
to have 20 of everything. You will not be sorry.
