Flavor Text:
"I can see my
ocean from here."
Power: 8,000
Rarity: Very
Rare
Set: Rampage
of the Super Warriors
Power/Cost: Six mana to 8k attack is
standard fare among evolution creatures. Bynor
comes with the Double breaker ability tacked on,
and he can survive all power-limited destruction
except Vise. So far Bynor sure looks like his
field presence is deserving of that Legendary
tag.
Civilization/Race: This category is
where the love fest comes to an end. Being an
evolution, Bynor receives beefed up stats but he
is also extremely dependant on the other
creatures of his race. In this case, the
Leviathans of Duel Masters are more a liability
than an asset. There are currently eleven of the
behemoths, each of them costing about seven or
eight. The exception is King Coral (who?) at
three mana. Now that could be okay if they were
at least decent cards, but the Leviathans are
terrible on top of costing way too much. Not
good for Bynor.
Effects: Legendary Bynor’s main ability
deals with unblockability, much like favorites
Crystal Paladin and Lancer. But the big boy only
allows all of your other Water beasts to bypass
blockers. That sounds okay on the surface, but
honestly it’s just too situational for my
liking. Six mana could be spent in so many
better ways.
Limited: 1.46/5
Evolutions in
general should probably be avoided in drafts.
Throw in the craptastic-ness of Legendary Bynor,
and even the most inexperienced player would
know better than to use him.
Constructed: 1.47/5
Bynor is
naturally much better in constructed
play. Its cuz all the chicks dig his sweet
nunchuck skills.
