Name: Laveil,
Seeker of Catastrophe
Cost: 8
Race: Mecha Thunder
Civilization: Light
Type: Creature
Rules Text:
Blocker (Whenever an opponent's creature attacks,
you may tap this creature
to stop the attack. Then the 2 creatures battle.)
At the end of each of your turns, you may untap this
creature.
Double breaker (This creature breaks 2 shields.)
Power: 8500
Mana Number: 1
Artist: Masaki Hirooka
Rarity: S
Collector Number: S2
Set: Stomp-a-Trons of Invincible Wrath
Civilization: It blocks, it un-taps, it double
breaks, it slices, it dices, it cures the common
cold! It has the big light abilitys.
Effect: Lots of effects here. First off you see 8
mana for a 8500 creature with double breaker, kinda
meh when we all ready have a card that cost 7 for
9000 power and double breaker. But then we see it
has blocker, also meh when we see that we also have
a card that cost 6 for a 9000 blocker. But then we
see the last ability, un-taps at the end of the
turn. So you can attack and block with out having to
choose one or the other. the only thing is the high
cost it has on it, but it can block a baza.
Cost; I don't know where to start. Expect the double
breaker to be free since it cost more than 6 and has
more than 6000 power and can attack. It has a higher
power than it's cost which is seen in other cards,
it has blocker but can attack which usally cost 1.
And can un-tap, which usally cost I don't know, 1000
power. Because of all the tools this guy has and the
power behind it I'm going to say that it has a fair
cost.
Constructed: 3/5 while it is a good card, it just
comes out too late and is too slow.
limited: 3.5/5 while it does come out late here it
is big and has its uses, blocking the random baza
someone pulled.

Laveil,
Seeker of Catastrophe
Cost: 8
Race: Mecha Thunder
Civilization: Light
Power: 8500
Effect:
-Blocker (Whenever an opponent's creature attack,
you may tap this creature to stop the attack. Then
the 2 creatures battle.)
-At the end of each of your turns, you may untap
this creature.
-Double Breaker
It's the week of light!!!! We're going to shine on
in with a trio of lights cards, so lets see what the
Light Civilization is going to give us.
Cost: 8 Mana is really high. A little bit too high
for this creature in fact. It's basically a high
powered Ruby Grass minus not being able to attack
players and with Double Breaker tacked on. Which
isn't saying much because it's standard for any
creature costing 6 mana or more to have double
breaker. Not to mention that you could summon 8
Light blockers for this same cost
Race: Mecha Thunder!!!!! Mecha Thunders have one
evolution out right now, which, A. Cost 5 mana. B.
Rawks compared to this card. So this card is
unsutable for evo bait as you could use Ur Pale or
Misha, the later being the one I'd use.
Power: Ho-Hum. If you want attack power than pick
another card, I'd say you just use a whole other
Civilization is really wanted wanted some nice
attack power. But how about we look at the bright
side? It can evade all of Fire's power based kill
spells, and it's nice trade off for 8 mana.
Buuuuuutttttttt, then again there are cheaper
creatures with more power. So sad....
Effect: This area can make or break a card. It
breaks. This a card that can hit the battle zone,
swing for fences, and then ready itself for a
counter attack. Unfortunately, it's blocker effect
makes it prone to all cheap blocker kill spells,
therefore the ability to block after it attacks can
be more of weakness than an advantage. If you want
something to block with, then go for some of the
much cheaper blockers. The real advantage is that
your opponent won't be able to attack with a high
power creature, but then again he'll be able to
Death Smoke just when you think you got out of
danger. Double Breaker is nice, but if you want it
that bad then just go for some of the cheaper cards.
So the blocker skill is thrown out, untap has it's
disadvantages, and Double Breaker is nothing
special, not mention that it's horrible Evo Bait. So
I guess this means that this card gets....
Constructed: 1/5 Way to much for what it does, and
riddled with disadvantages.
Limited: 1/5 Hmmmmm, cast this, or summon 4 Vess and
4 La Ura Giga?
Art:2/5 It's head, and hands....

Today's COTD is a card that's not used very
commonly, nor is it very powerful to use. From a
first look, it downright sucks. But let's not jump
to conclusions, shall we?
It's 8 Mana. Now this could be a bad time to say
this, as if you started first and summoned this guy,
then it's your opponent's turn and he summons
Scarlet Skyterror. PWNED.
It's attack is 8500. This barrier is high enough to
stop Apocalypse Vise and
lots of other destruction spells, save for Terror
Pit and a few others. It's
a Double Breaker, meaning it clears Shields faster
than normal. Ooh, it's got Blocker too. Now
depending on your Meta, this could be Good, Or Bad.
So if you ever plan to play this card, hope that you
don't come across Blocker Killers.
Ah, it also has the ability to Untap at the end of
turns. Cool. But that would leave it to Deathsmoke,
wouldn't it? WRONG. Keyword: May. You may choose to
Untap it, or You may not. Keeping it tapped saves
you from Deathsmoke. But leaving it open to Fatties.
More often than not, the Death Smoke is seen more
than the Fatty attacks.
It's a Mecha Thunder, which means it's got an
evolution to back it up. Now let's wrap it up. This
Mecha Thunder, is a cheap imitation of two
creatures.
Why? Here ya go:
It stole Urth's Untap Ability.
It stole Kizar Basiku's Attack, AND Double Breaker,
not to mention the Blocker.
Final Ratings?
Constructed: 3/5 (It's decent enough to be played,
but requires a lot of attention to be played well.)
Limited: 3/5 (It's from Set 6, so it should go well
there.)
Rarity: 3/5 (It's rare enough to be a Super Rare,
though a weak one. Trade it or sell it unless you
want to keep it or collect it.)
... 9/15.
