I guess we’ll continue the COTDs with
another Old-Card-Binge-Week. Tornado Flame
is still holding strong in several decks…
Tornado Flame
Cost:

Civilization:
Fire

Rules Text:
·
Shield trigger
·
Destroy 1 of your opponent’s creatures that
has power 4000 or less.
It’s easy to review a card like this because
of its long history. Tornado Flame has been
an effective solution for several decks.
Although limited in its ability to destroy,
it still packs a very nice punch. Just kill
anything that is power 4000 or less with no
strings attached. The only issue is that
the mana cost is fairly high, so several
decks will find that it gets in the way.
The other thing is that if you pay just 1
more mana you could be casting a Terror
Pit.
The Good:
When Tornado Flame is in your shields you
have a good chance to kill something. It is
also good for players who do not have Terror
Pits
The Bad:
The 4000 power restriction is not the
greatest thing.
The Ugly:
There are better things to play on turn 5
Constructed Rating:
4/5 – I’m not gonna hate just because
Terror Pit is better. This card is good at
what it’s designed to do and has saved my
neck several times.
Limited Rating:
4/5 – Effective shield triggers are
difficult to find in limited. This will
help to stop your opponent in his/her
tracks.

questions, and/or objections on the Message
