King Baz |
Hello Pojo
people! My name is King Baz, and I come from a
country known as New Zealand. Same as The Pit of
Terror. But enough about me, lets get on to our COTD.
Today, we review a very interesting card. King
Oquanos...
Name: King Oquanos
Cost: 8
Race: Leviathan
Civilization: Water
Type: Creature
Rules Text:
This creature gets +2000 power for each tapped card
in your opponent's mana zone.
While this creature has power 6000 or more, it has
"Double breaker (This creature breaks 2 shields)."
Flavor Text:
The Merfolk fear, despise, and respect the
Leviathans.
Power: 2,000
Well, this card is very annoying to the opponent.
It's a bit like Smash Horn Q. The power lies to
you...
It's an 8 Cost 2000.... or is it? What do I mean you
ask? See the effect and you will understand...
King Oquanos gets +2000 power for each tapped card
in your opponents mana zone. That means when you
Hammer it, it has 6000. When you PDF it, it has
8000. In fact, there are only a few ways that a Fire
spell can kill this. A Volcanic Arrows or a Sheild
Triggered PDF. Tricky card. It also gets Double
Breaker when it has 6000 or more. Double Breaker is
good to have.
Hmm..... There's not much to this card. It's a
weenie that grows to a fattie and back to a
weenie...
Time to rate!
Constructed: 2.5
Limited: 2
Till' next time!

Heya all,
~Zephyr~ here once again with another COTD for you's
to enjoy.
Next up on our list of Very Rares from Set 10, is a
very odd looking Leviathan in King Oquanos
Name: King Oquanos
Cost: 8
Race: Leviathan
Civilization: Water
Type: Creature
Rules Text:
This creature gets +2000 power for each tapped card
in your opponent's mana zone.
While this creature has power 6000 or more, it has
"Double breaker (This creature breaks 2 shields)."
Flavor Text:
The Merfolk fear, despise, and respect the
Leviathans.
Power: 2,000
Mana Number: 1
Artist: Masaki Hirooka
Rarity: V
Collector Number: 3
Lets break it down.......
Cost, Power & Effect: Similar to Ryudmila, this
creature has a very low power at only 2000 but
unlike Ryudmila being only 5 mana, this guy, like
most of the Leviathan's, is a massive 8 mana, a spot
which is usually keep open for the likes of
Bazagazeal Dragon or the rare use of Chain
Sacrifice!
8 mana for 2000 power is very poor but again, this
creature's effect is linked to its power but in a
very different way to Ryudmila! For you see, this
creature gains +2000 power for every TAPPED creature
in the OPPONENT's Mana Zone, and even better is that
once it reaches 6000 power, it gains a nice double
breaker ability. The main thing that must been said
about this creature's effect is that it relies
entirely on how your opponent is playing their deck.
99% of the time, duelists will put creatures into
their mana zone, allowing you to use Oquanos'
ability to its max. But if the particular duelist is
either using a very high spell deck (they do exist,
played one recently against Cloud) or even rarier
appearance of an Earthstomp Giant deck, then u are
in trouble, but I wouldn't worry as most duelists
won't do that! The only bad thing that I dislike
about this's creature effect is that it gives your
opponent and not you the oppurtunity to decide its
power and if your opponent is clever, they will
avoid raising its power too high that it will be
impossible to block!
Race: Leviathans have been around since the Base Set
with King Depthcon and like always this guy fits in
with the rest quite nicely. Has a nice evolution in
King Bynor but otherwise, its nothing new.
Availability: Tough but easily for trade!
I like this creature personally and I could see it
being a major problem for the majority of decks to
deal with unless they have plenty of removal as
people will not realise that their creatures in
their mana zone of all places will end up deciding
how strong King Oquanos becomes! Its like a
double-edged sword as such, they tap their mana to
summon or cast, but at the same time, they are
possibly powering King Oquanos up for cause some
damage against them the next turn, nice!
Limited: 2/5 - The effect is this creature is pretty
good for matches but since its 8 mana, you'll be
very lucky to get a chance to summon it personally,
so I'd be careful if you decide to use it!
Constructed: 3/5 - Other than the high mana cost &
the way your opponent can decide King Oquanos' power
boost, this creature is a solid double breaker but
there are definitely better choices to use over it!
~Zephyr~'s Score: 3/5
If anyone wants to discuss anything that I have
mentioned in this COTD, feel free to email me @ -
mexflash@hotmail.com. Generally always up for a
friendly chat & discussion. Also available on Msn &
for duels on DMC v2.0!
Until the next COTD!

What is on his head, a boiler-like thing?
King Oquanos is a Leviathan from Shockwaves Of The
Shattered Rainbow. He is a Leviathan, so he's evo-bait
for Bynor. His Mant to Power ratio, much like
Ryudmila, is based on his effect. So for every
tapped card in your opponents mana zone, he gets
+2000 power. Once again, if the rules text read "for
every tapped card in both players mana zone..." than
this creature would see play in most decks. Sadly it
doesn't so your opponent can spend 5 mana on his
turn, while this creature is on the field, to summon
a powerful monster. On his/her next turn, your
opponent can use that beast to obliterate the King
Oquanos.
Pros: Evo-bait for Bynor
Cons: HORRIBLE Power to Mana ratio.
Only evolution creature for leviathans is Bynor
Art: 1/5 Next cards art is going to be better
Overall Rating: 1/5 Next cards is going to be better
See ya guys, or girls, next time

I'm back
again for another CotD. Today we look at King Oqanos.
(I'm going to start getting my data from
duelmasters.com's database.)
Name: King Oquanos
Cost: 8
Race: Leviathan
Civilization: Water
Type: Creature
Rules Text:
This creature gets +2000 power for each tapped card
in your opponent's mana zone.
While this creature has power 6000 or more, it has
"Double breaker (This creature breaks 2 shields)."

Power: 2,000
Mana Number: 1
Artist: Masaki Hirooka
Rarity: V
Collector Number: 3
I never liked Leviathans because of their cost and
some pretty pathetic effects. This is a card similar
to Ryudmila, but it gets it's power from your
opponents tapped mana. I prefer Ryudmila over this
because A. Ryudmila is cheaper for a better effect
and B. Ryudmila has the offchance of being drawn
again.
2/5 (still a slightly good card.)
1/5 Art (This is a leviathan? It's a big ball.)
