Ten-Ton Crunch is one of those cards that
most of us predicted we would see. The
funny thing is that even though it completes
the Phantom Dragon’s Flame and Tornado Flame
chain, it bears a name that does not end in
“Flame”. The card itself is not
ground-breaking but it is still useful.

Destroy one of your opponent's creatures
that has power 3000 or less.
After seeing cards like Tornado Flame and
Phantom dragon’s flame it’s easy to
understand the reasoning behind the cost.
All of these cards are shield triggers and
all of them destroy a creature that’s up to
a certain amount of power. Ten-Ton Crunch
sits right in the middle, ready to destroy
any creature 3000 or less. Again, it’s
pretty basic and nothing that we didn’t
expect.
So does Ten-Ton Crunch offer any advantages
over these other two cards? I’ll just say
that it depends. When we get down to it, it
looks like it was designed to be a
Pyrofighter Magnus killer. Since my meta is
loaded with Pyrofighter spammers, it would
make sense to load a deck with a few Ten-Ton
Crunches. So far it’s been very effective
and in actuality it can efficiently destroy
a wide number of creatures. A lot of people
may pass this off for being unimpressive but
it gets the job done.
The Good:
It’s a Pyrofighter Magnus killer.
The Bad:
The 3000 power restriction is not the
greatest thing.
The Ugly:
There are better things to play on turn 4.
Constructed Rating:
4/5 – Every card in Duel Masters has a
purpose and Ten-Ton Crunch is no exception.
Again, it kills Magnus and it gets the job
done
Limited Rating:
4.5/5 – This beauty will shine in limited
and will definitely come in handy when
triggered as a shield.
