My
Base Set Outlook - KingofGames
The Duel Masters game has just come out with their
first saga of sets and will be adding to it soon. As I know, I'm not the
best Duel Masters player, but helping people is what I love to do and I'll
do it with this article reviewing all the civilizations from the first
Base Set of Duel Masters. If no one's noticed, there are 5 civilizations in
the Duel Masters World, each with strengths and weaknesses. This article
reviews Fire. Fire Ah, Fire, the powerhouse of the Base Set. This
civilization has one main ploy. Attack and kick the crap out of your
opponent's monsters and shields. Most of Fire's creatures have one of
three different effects, Power
Attacker, Destroy 1 mana in your mana zone, or
Double Breaker. Power
attacker is pretty much there to wreck through most average sized
blockers. Destroying mana, especially Fire mana, fuels one of
the strongest Power Attackers - Bolshack Dragon. Double Breaker is godly,
nothing like destroying two shields for the price of one. While these
sound good, there is one major problem, there are absolutely no Blockers
whatsoever! Power is good, but if you have no shields
and are about to lose, it's no good. If you use the Fire civilization,
combine with other civilizations like Light or Water(for the
blockers), Darkness (trust me, this reaps major havok on the opponent if
created right), or Nature (to fuel all the giant attackers this
civilization has). Cards to Play: Tornado Flame - Destroy
a monster with 4000 power or less and a Shield Trigger? Well,
alright. Rothus, the
Traveler - The greatest creature removal
monster we have right now, as a matter of fact, any creature removal is
good. Magma Gazer - Gives any
monster "Double Breaker" and "Power Attacker +4000"? This will wreck
any deck. Crimson Hammer - Like
Tornado Flame, it works on those monsters that give you a hard time, but
only it's 2000 or less now. Artisan Picora and Deadly Fighter Braid
Claw - Little one mana monsters that can work
with Magma Gazer and can be summoned first turn. Explosive Fighter Ucarn
- A little on the high stakes side for me, but if you can replenish
the mana he destroys, go for it. 9000 power and Double Breaker is deadly
if you can withstand the mana tribute. Bolshack Dragon
and Gatling
Skyterror - Really, did you think I forgot these guys?
Even though I like Bolshack, I've got to say that Gatling's better as the
high-mana beatstick. Face it - 7000 tapped or untapped to 6000
when tapped or 6000+ when attacking. They both have Double Breaker, but
I'd spend the extra mana for Gatling instead or
Bolshack. |
