Round 1
BLD vs. Mike: Water/Light Deck with a
Surprise
Best 2 out of 3 games
Match 1:
My first hand was 2 La Ura Gigas, Rothus, Onslaughter
Triceps, Senatine Jade Tree. I went first and put down Senatine Jade Tree has
mana and summoned La Ura Giga. Mike put down an Aqua Soldier has mana an then
summoned a Marine Flower. I drew another Senatine Jade Tree, put it on the mana
zone, tapped it and summoned another La Ura Giga. Basically we put down blockers
for the next 3 turns I think. I had 6 mana and Mike had 6 mana. We knew it came
down to who would draw Holy Awe first. It was my turn. I started to believe in
the heart of the cards again then I drew. I actually got Holy Awe. I tried to
hold my excitement. Then I put down 2 Deadly Fighter Braid Claws and an Immortal
Baron, Vorg in the battle zone. Then it was Mikes turn. He drew and put down a
Lok, Vizier of Hunting. Then it was my turn. I drew and got Solar Ray. I put
down a card in the mana zone and then put another Deadly Fighter Braid
Claw in the battle zone and then played Holy Awe. I then attacked my opponent’s
shield zone with 2 of my Deadly Fighter Braid Claws, Immortal Baron, Vorg, and a
Lok, Vizier of Hunting I put down a few turns ago. Mike had 1 shield left. He
got no shield triggers. When it was Mike’s turn, he put down another mana and
then summoned 2 Ruby Grass. He attacked with Lok. He targeted my shield zone and
attacked. I let him hit me because I was running low on cards. I got a Tornado
Flame and destroyed his Ruby Grass. I drew and amazingly got Holy Awe. I played
it and attacked his last shield, which was Solar Ray. He tapped one of my
monsters, I forgot which. Then I attacked him again for the
win.
Match 2:
My hand was Deadly Fighter Braid Claw, 2 Immortal Baron,
Vorg, Holy Awe, and Rothus. Mike had the first turn. For some reason he didn’t
seem worried. He put down a mana and passed. My turn, I drew a Deadly Fighter
Braid Claw. I put down Immortal Baron, Vorg has mana then summoned Deadly
Fighter Braid Claw. Mike put down another mana and passed. I drew a La Ura Giga,
Sky Guardian. I put down Rothus has mana and played Immortal Baron, Vorg. I
attacked Mike’s Shield Zone with Deadly Fighter Braid Claw. Mike flipped up his
shield and showed me it. It was Terror Pit. I was stupefied by why he was
running a darkness card in a water/light deck. Mike told me after the match,
that he runs 4 Terror Pits at the chance that they would be in his shield zone.
Pretty risky if you ask me. Any ways, he destroys Immortal Baron, Vorg.
Eventually I win by picking at his shields with my small
creatures.
Round 2
BLD vs. Connor: Darkness/Nature
Deck
One match (Connor and I wanted to raise the stakes a
little more and decided to only play one match)
Final Match:
I wasn’t really sure how this was going to turn out
since I’ve never played against a darkness/nature deck before. I got to go
first. I had Bolshack Dragon, Tornado Flame, Immortal Baron, Vorg, Toel, Vizier
of Hope, and La Ura Giga, Sky Guardian. I put down Toel has mana and summoned La
Ura Giga. Connor put down Terror Pit has mana. Then it was my turn. I drew an
got Deadly Fighter Braid Claw. I put down Bolshack Dragon has mana and summoned
Deadly Fighter Braid Claw. I attacked his shield zone. Then Connor drew and
placed a card has mana and then summoned Wandering Braineater. I drew some card,
I forgot what it was, placed a mana and played Immortal Baron, Vorg. Deadly
Fighter Braid Claw had to attack because of its effect. A few turns later, there
were a few slayer effects going off, some blocking, and spells being shot all
over the field. This was definitely one of my favorite matches. I eventually
won.
I was pretty happy I won. I used the money for booster
packs, I didn’t get anything. Now for the Pros n
Cons
Pros:
Deadly Fighter Braid Claw
