Duel masters "the next yu gi
oh"
Hello duel fans. I know
that if you are reading this you are either
a)
lost
b) into the
new hot game Duel Masters
or c)
wanting to learn more to possibly get into the new game Duel
Masters
Ok my first impression of this
game was " It's just some new game that wizards made to make a fast buck" but
since the card shop owner was promoting the game and giving starter decks away
for free i could'nt go wrong.
next i saw pojo created a duel
masters site so i monotored it for a while.
I've already been playing two
weeks and it has far exceeded my expectations (though i doubt it will replace yu
gi oh). by looking on the site i have noticed one flaw in most (not all)
people's oppiniopns. People are making the same mistake some made in yu gi
oh. they fall in to the mindset that you must beat your opponent
as quickly as posible (aka beat down decks) and i must admit beatdowns this
early in the game is probably smart. however beatdown later in the game
will mostlikely die out as they did in yu gi oh.
most beat downs at the moment
are fire, and though fire and grass have the biggest baddest fastest monsters
(by fast i mean get out quickly) fire civilization decks have no blockers.
so for example i may use my fie deck against my friends light deck. he
gets a couple la vira sky guardians senatine jade trees and that 9000 blocker
(whose name i don't know yet) and all i've got is a rothus and maybee some
imortal barons on the field. if you do not know what the above light
monsters are they are blockers and that means i cannot get to his shields untill
i kill his blockers. then say my friend pulls a couple urth and hanusas
over the next few turns. with fire having no blockers i'm done
for.
so at the moment i'd say full
fire decks are bad (for the fact that they do not own blockers). but don't throw
your fire monsters away. instead do what i do and mix your full fire deck with
about 15-20 light, darkness, or water monsters (preferably dark so you can
run spells like ghost touch and dark reversals) that way you can keep the
awesome firemonsters but still have some decent
blockage.
questions, comments, or
complaints i will take them all at Kmckeel@nc.rr.com (please no cursing) also
if i have wrong information up here please correct me. i am open to all
deck suggestions as well if you think my deck idea
is cracked.
