Horus' Hut
Horus' Hut - The Drawing Cards - Part 5
Nov 3, 2005

My second article today will be the finishing up on this series.  Sadly, we have to say good bye to those certain cards.  Oh well, all good things must come to an end.  So without wasting anymore of your time, here they are!!

Name: Q-tronic Hypermind
Cost: 8
Race: Survivor
Civilization: Water
Type: Evolution
Rules Text:
Evolution-Put on one of your Survivors.
When you put this creature into the battle zone, you may draw a card for each Survivor in the battle zone.
Double breaker
(This creature breaks 2 shields.)

I think that this card would kick but in a survivor deck.  Its stats alone are good.  Its effect gives it that extra little boost.  I would have to say that at least 2 of these in a Survivor deck would be necessary, though I've never played with one of these before.  But you Survivor people know what works best so I will leave it up to you to decide.

Name: Raptor Fish
Cost: 6
Race: Gel Fish
Civilization: Water
Type: Creature
Rules Text:
When you put this creature into the battle zone, count the cards in your hand, shuffle those cards into your deck, then draw that many cards.
Power: 3000

This effect is very similar to that of Cyclone Panic.  And I will basicly say the same thing.  It isn't all that great unless you run a lot of high cost cards or you have terrible luck when it comes to hands and want something different.

Name: Split-Head Hydroturtle Q
Cost: 5
Race: Survivor / Gel Fish
Civilization: Water
Type: Creature
Rules Text:
Survivor (Each of your Survivors has this creature's Survivor ability.)
Survivor Whenever this creature attacks, you may draw a card.
Power: 2000

Ahh, another Survivor with the ability to let you draw.  This one is even better than some other Survivors' effects.  Though his ratio isn't too great.  I would say run this card in a Survivor deck.  But as I said before, you Survivors know what works best for your deck.

Name: Thought Probe
Cost: 4
Civilization: Water
Type: Spell
Rules Text:
Shield Trigger Shield trigger (When this spell is put into your hand from your shield zone, you may cast it immediately for no cost.)
When you cast this spell, if your opponent has 3 or more creatures in the battle zone, draw 3 cards.

Very interesting card here.  It used to be good, but now with the additon of other cards like Energy Stream, it has lost value.  The thing about this card is that it works good against certain decks, while against others it is mana food.  I say run Energy Stream.

Name: Wave Lance
Cost: 3
Civilization: Water
Type: Spell
Rules Text:
Choose a creature in the battle zone and return it to its owner's hand. If it has Dragon in its race, you may draw a card.

I doubt many people have had a chance to play test this card.  With all these dragons though, it could set your opponent back a turn or two.  Let's wait to see how the dragons fair out after everyone gets used to them to say whether to use it or not.

And that will do it.  So to end this series, as a thanks if you read all of my articles on it, I will give you somewhat of a very easy hint to what deck I will be running at L.A.  Here it is:

It is a guy deck.

Good luck.  E-mail me if you think you know.  Though I probably won't respond until Monday since I won't be back until then.

danieljs@bellsouth.net via MSN IM or e-mail

Until next time,
have fun dueling, etc. and good luck
