New Duel Masters Expansion Features “Rainbow” Cards

February 2006 (Renton, Washington) — Shockwaves of the Shattered Rainbow hits stores this April—and the latest DUEL MASTERS set brings with it a special offer: A redemption card driving consumers to some of the best TCG stores in the land, where they can get “The Best DUEL MASTERS Promo Card Ever Made!” DUEL MASTERS is published by Wizards of the Coast, Inc., the world leader in hobby gaming and a subsidiary of Hasbro, Inc.

Beginning April 7, 2006, players can go to duelmasters.com to see the list of stores participating in this great promotion, which runs through the end of July.

“This card was translated and brought over from Japan just for this promotion,” says R.E Dalrymple, DUEL MASTERS Brand Manager at Wizards of the Coast. “Our R&D department, and a lot of our friends from Japan say this is the best promo card we’ve ever done for DUEL MASTERS. As you may know, they’re a little ahead of us when it comes to the number of released DUEL MASTERS cards, so not only is it the best now, it’ll be the best for a while.”

The promo also happens to be a “Rainbow” card, which combines the power of two different civilizations into one card that produces both types of mana. All that packed into a rainbow card frame that takes the look of DUEL MASTERS to new heights.

The popular DUEL MASTERS property tells the story of a boy named Shobu Kirifuda who plays a card game called DUEL MASTERS. In DUEL MASTERS, players can bring monsters to life using a martial art called “kaijudo”. In addition to the TCG, fans can also experience the world of Shobu through the hit DUEL MASTERS animated television show, which airs every Saturday night at 7 p.m. on Cartoon Network.

Theme Decks Highlight Shockwaves Expansion
DUEL MASTERS fans can sample the excitement of Shockwaves of the Shattered Rainbow with ready-to-play, 40-card Theme Decks (MSRP $5.99).
Kids can enhance and expand their decks with Booster Packs (MSRP $3.49), randomized with 10-cards of varying degrees of rarity to increase collectability.
