cards that sow confusion, anger, and depression on your
opponents
The human mind is a complex and
incredible machine. It performs all of the daily tasks of our lives.
With its complexity, it is easily provoked into many different emotions.
While some of the actions caused by emotions are humorous, or even intimidating,
these emotions can be used in your advantage in the game of Duel Masters.
Certain cards in this game allow players to embarrass, and even achieve victory
over their opponents. Listed here are the Top 10 cards that provoke
emotional changes in your opponent which can benefit you by providing you with a
laugh or a solid victory.
10. Brain serum- This little card
allows you to immediately draw two cards (pokemon's bill anyone?), while it may
not seem like much, you get a major card advantage over your opponent. It could
help you draw that big fattie that lies in the depths of your deck,
or better yet TWO FATTIES! Imagine this, you tap 4 mana to play brain
serum, draw your two cards. As you look up at your opponent with a huge grin and
a shiny reflection of king depthcon on your face. Your opponent’s heart skips a
beat... While it may not be flashy, Brain serum allows you to get ahead of the
duel master race, and I have yet to meet a opponent who likes to lose
races...
9. Ghost touch- always a fun
way of toying with your opponents minds. At 2 mana this spell is highly
playable. Now discarding a random card may mean different things for everyone,
but generally whoever plays this card gets to choose a card in their opponent’s
hands without looking at what the cards are. Wow, what a great effect. You can
get a reputation of being a total Jerk with this card. What if your opponent has
a big card in their hand and, with luck, you select it to become sent to the
graveyard. OUCH, who wouldn’t be pissed if they just lost their Urth 5th turn,
with 5 mana on the board...so if you want to be a jerk and piss off everyone
play this card and play it with PRIDE! And oh ya this card looks
cool...
8. Dark reversal- hummm... someone
just killed your deathliger using all their resources and now you’re sad? Never
fear, reflect that sadness back at them by playing this card! By the time such
big bad creatures are on the board, the only 2 ways of killing them
is direct monster removal or bigger fatter fatties. If you have a huge
fattie like deatliger, it takes a lot to take it down. Your opponent will make
it a top priority to take it down and waste all their time trying to kill it. If
they do manage to kill it, your opponent will surely squeal with glee. Break
their confidence by playing Dark reversal. Bring back that dead deathliger and
summon it again to destroy your opponent.
7. Dimension Gate- most of us
who play duel masters don’t have tons and tons of cash to buy multiple super
rares. Fortunately, there’s dimension gate. Look for a monster show it to your
opponent, shuffle your deck, I really like the "show your opponent" part.
If u play it smart, u will be able to summon your fattie soon when u play
this card. Nothing beats watching your opponents face when you slowly flash at
them the king depthcon you just got out of your deck. Your opponent will know
that you will soon summon it to destroy his puny shields, and such this is
a good card to have in your deck. Plus theirs a huge monkey on the card...woo go
monkey!
6. Sonic wing- wow, makes a
creature unblockable. We all know what that means, yes that’s right free shield
breaking! Your opponent will know exact moment when you lay down this card, it’s
like a stab in your opponent’s heart, and it hurts. Play it on a double breaker
to double the damage
5. Laser wing- sonic wing's bigger
brother, they even have similar names. 5 mana for 2 creatures to become
unblockable. That costs less then 2 sonic wings which do the same thing. This
thing hurts really bad. Played on 2 cheap double breakers (deathblade beetles)
it kills off 4 shields. Well who likes losing 4/5 of their shields to a single
strike? This effect sends a very strong message to your opponent, something like
"omg I already lost". Most of the time though we will not have 2 double
breakers, but by the time you can play this card, you should have at least ONE
double breaker monster and a weak monster. 3/5 shields still isn’t too
bad. Laser wing is a finishing choice that really destroys your opponent’s
confidence, work it into a deck.
4. Magma gazer- its steroids, but
for Duel master creatures. It makes that wussy fighter braid claw a massive
mucho 5000attack double breaker for a turn. This really helps when your being
beat down by huge monster, or just need a little punch to take out more shields.
Alot of fire players use this card, as it puts a immediate threat on the board
and your opponents will lose their cool. Think about it this way, its turn 3 so
both sides have very little on the board. You have a couple of weenies on the
board, but wait! You draw magma gazer! That 1000 attack braid claw becomes
SUPER! Your opponents eyes widen and you break their shields :D, a double
breaker as early as turn 3 is really good. Actually, no double breaker can come
out in turn 3... So laugh at your opponent when this is used on him early in the
game.
3. Death smoke- haha, every black
player WILL use this card and the effect is always the same, moans and groans
from your opponent, to make it worse its a common. Which means everyone who
plays black will be using it, 4 in fact. It gets rid of untapped fatties or
annoying support cards that normally just wont go away from relentless creature
attacks. If your playing black then you probably already play this, if not,
consider black. Pay careful attention to the words that come out of your
opponent’s mouth. Its goes something like this "Oh no not death
smoke...again..."
2. Terror pit- simple and
straightforward to use, usually comes after death smoke. one of the best monster
removals out there (I believe currently tied to natural snare) right when your
opponent thinks that all the death smokes are used and all the monster
removal is over, this bad boy comes out and kills their opponents no "buts" just
pay the cost and target dies, and theirs nothing your opponent can do but whine
like a sissy, and that’s priceless...
1. Holy awe- effectively the
"raigeki" of Duel masters, this card taps all your opponents’ creatures allowing
you to attack with every measly creature that you thought was useless. Just mass
creatures and win in one turn, its that easy. This card really gets into your
opponents head as it is a "finisher" card. Your opponent knows whets coming when
you play this. The name holy awe doesn’t suit it, I like the name GG more for
good game!
well there you have it folks, these
cards will make your opponent go nuts, and generally their confidence will be
reduced to goo, be sure to shake hands with your opponent after the game to
clear up any hard feelings, any damage that may occur to property or
personnel as a result of using these cards is totally NOT my fault. Well there
