Is the title long enough for ya? I thought so. Anyways, this is my tournament report, so I invite you to sit back and enjoy. My deck has such a lame name… If anyone has a better suggestion PLEASE let me know.

I arrived at Galactic Quest at 11:00, even though the tournament doesn’t start until one. So I just casual dueled everyone else until then. I’ll give you a quick run down of who I fought and what they used.
PRE-TOURNAMENT DUELING:
Matt #2: Beast Folk with Bounce - I won
Will: Human/Fast Fire- I won
Will: Mono-Light- I won
Will: Beast Folk- I won
Joe: Dark/Fire that usually defeats itself- I won
And I’m sure I casual dueled some other people as well, but I can’t remember who at the moment…
Well, it was nearing one now, and judge Fabian had not showed up. He calls and tells us he has been grounded… So we all decide to have an un-sanctioned tournament (On a side note, that made me mad. I’m gonna be sixth in Georgia forever if I can’t get points!). We each contribute one dollar (There were a total of 10 of us). So the prizes are laid out.
TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE:
Swiss, Four rounds. Winner gets two base set Boosters, second gets one, third and below gets squat. Winner gets to choose which two he gets. The two people with the most points will duke it out in the end for first and second. Best two out of three for each round. Simple, right?
Pairings were announced. My first opponent was Marque.
FIRST ROUND: LEE vs. MARQUE
Marque runs a Nature/Darkness/Water hybrid. It has no real strategy to it, and he swears every week that he is gonna quit. I’ll believe it when it happens.
DUEL ONE: I was about two steps ahead of him the entire duel. Anything he summoned I bounced/killed/put on top of his deck. The duel ended quickly. 1-0.
DUEL TWO: Same as before, but due to a slow hand on my part, he broke a shield. Terror pit is a great shield, no? 2-0.
So I won round one. I waited a short while, then faced round two.
Jason runs a Barkwhip deck, which I always do rather poorly against. I was worried going into this match.
DUEL ONE: He got off slowly, and I dropped my Blockers. I won. 3-0
DUEL TWO: Don’t ya hate it when you play a Bronze Arm Tribe that places your Barkwhip in the mana zone? 4-0
I know so many Matts that I have started numbering them. He and I were both undefeated, and he and I have a quasi-rivalry going on.
ROUND ONE: Pwnage. That’s the only word for it. Horrid Worm raped his hand, and I killed anything he summoned. 5-0.
ROUND TWO: My deck was gold in this round. He couldn’t keep a creature, so I killed him at will. 6-0.
On this point I had a record that guaranteed me the finals, but I still had one round to go…
Our store has a code, and line 8 reads this: “Female gamers are rare. If I hit on them, they may become more rare.” Female gamers are often very good too, and her deck, while un-remarkable, beats many of the stores best duelists.
ROUND ONE: She summoned many blockers, but time, diligence, and death smokes broke her defenses. 7-0
ROUND TWO: She took longer to summon blockers, so by then I was ready. 8-0
So, I was undefeated. My opponent in the finals was also undefeated.
How the heck did Joe make the finals? His deck is not good at all. When Matt #2 asked him later, Joe admitted he’d been lucky. His luck ends here.
ROUND ONE: Come turn six, he has one shield left, and a total of six mana. He summons Ucarn, and kills two mana. I bounce it. He summons it again! I bounce it… again! 9=0
ROUND TWO: More of the same, but at least he didn’t mana screw himself again. I had him topdecking though. 10-0
UNDEFEATED ALL DAY!!!!!
THE AFTERMATH:
WOOT!! I won! I chose my two packs, which yielded Scarlet Skyterror and Urth, Purifying Elemental. I was happy. Not bad for a $1 entry fee. I was also given a Groblav Promo. Now I have four!
Now, to slops and Props.
PROPS:
Ummm… For winning?
For the cards I pulled
For the cheap entry fee
For Galactic Quest being an awesome store!
For my opponents all being good sports.
SLOPS:
Not sanctioned…
Needing seven Super Rare cards to complete my collections…
For Stephen for not being there.
Well, that concludes my lengthy and informative Tournament report! Maybe I’ll send another next week!
But anyways, if you want to contact me for any reason at all (I still need a good name for this deck), e-mail me!
Catch y’all later!
