My strategy is simple: get your opponent's monster's off the field and then hit a shield with an easy-to-summon monster. It only needs to be done 6 times.

The tournament was being held at Zool's Relic. I got there at 10:00 and registered. I looked around a bit until 10:30 when we started. 16 people had entered. The owner (Zool) informed us on his ladder system that we would use during the next month when he started league play. After that, we began.

Me v.s. Mr. Potato Head

This guy played with his lucky Mr. Potato Head doll by his side. Yep...a freak (lol). Anyway, turns out his deck wasn't made of any certain color, so he didn't do very well. First turn he layed down a Light mana. I laid down a mana, summoned Artisan Picora (sick) and ended. He laid down a Dark mana, ended. I played a fire mana, summoned Immortal Baron, Vorg (sick). Attacked with Picora and broke a shield. He finally got out an Iere, The Vizier of Bullets (sick). I drew, laid a mana, Spiral Gated, then broke Two Shields. He replayed Vizier. Next turn I drew a lucky Spiral Gate, used it, summoned another monster and broke all of his shields. He drew, laid a mana, and got out a 5000 attacker (can't remember what it was). I teleported and attacked him for the win.

Me v.s. Little Kid

He was just starting out in the game, and had was too many high cost monsters. I took him out with my 1 mana monsters, Spiraled his one monster and attacked for the win.

Me v.s. Bald Guy

He was playing a beatdown-type deck. This was a close one. I couldn't get any monsters out, and made do with my stall spells. He got me down to 2 shields before I got Dimension Gate to get a Teleportation, then finally churned some monsters out. I beat him with no shields left. whew...

Winner: Me

Me v.s. Zool's Brother

Man, this guy was tough!! He used the same stalling tactic that I used, then brought out TWO Double Breakers! I only got him down to 3 shields. I got whiped out.

Winner: Zool's Bro.

I got to the finals! W00t! I lost, but that didn't matter. I found out a lot of important stuff. My deck's gonna be bigger and better than ever next tourny.
