I woke up, it was 6:30. I had time to get dressed, and get some tips for my deck. Today, it was the circuit, I was ready. We did it kind of weird today. Since we didn?t have enough people to sanction both divisions, we combined them until the top 4 cut. Top 4 of each age would move on to top 4.

It was 8:30, I hopped in the car and we went off to Disposable Heroes, my regular card shop. I was still using the Murky Riptide Remix, I just remixed it a bit from the tot5c, here?s what it looked like:

Ok, we were there at 8:45. After one of the longest waits of my life, we finally started at 12:00.

The results were posted, I was facing..


Round 1 vs. Luis Merida (aka AZN Muffin) (3 Color I believe, 32/40 are shield triggers 0.0)

Luis has been coming since day 1, he was using a new shield trigger deck, which everyone knows I hate, I was wondering what was going to happen.

Match 1:

It was a slow start, and we kept exchanging shields back and forth. One of us had to pull away. Sadly, this was not me, he started taking an advantage over me. At one point, I had 1 untapped creature, 5 sheilds when he had 6 creatures, no blockers and no shields, he had to take the win here. He attacks one, nothing. He attacks another one, TERROR PIT!! I exclaim and I hold on to take match 1.
Match 2:

We were both stalling this match, back and forth again. After awhile, after my deck had picked up, I let him stall while I was building up my field with tons of creatures (hulcus, horrid worm) I had 1 shield and he could finish me off. I had a loco and that?s it. I hit a shield, Burst Shot. He now had no shields, and no blockers while I had that loco still to attack. He mis-played and didn?t cast it, because he was worrying about his own creatures. I took the match again for the sweep.

2-0 in duels, 1-0 in matches.


While Josh and I were done, we were talking about a new kid that had came, Clinton. And how to defeat his deck, we had seen how he lock-downed Josue with his mono-black Jack Viper/Frost Spectre deck.

Pairings for Round 2..

Round 2 vs. Clinton (of course) (Mono-Black Ghost Lockdown)


I was actually worried about this match. I had no experience against him nor did I have any experience at all against this type of deck. I?m glad Josh and I talked before this, because now I knew what I had to do..


Match 1:

I was very happy with getting an early hand advantage with the combo I call: ?The Double Discard? when I play Horrid on turn 3 then follow up with a locomotiver next turn. He couldn?t get out of my lock. Top-decking is the worst thing possible for a mono-darkness deck so he couldn?t get out and I won just by pure, good ol? fashion hand control.

Match 2:

This match was a slaughter. Horrid Worm and Corile picked apart his hand and field so bad that he could barely make his presence felt. I had the game locked-down so bad, he had nothing on the field and he was top-decking. I dropped him so far in the hole, he couldn?t get back out.

4-0 in duels, 2-0 in matches.


At this point, 4 new people walked in. Can you believe that? So we had to wait. I was thinking, ?ah, this won?t take too long?. Well guess what? It did. Two of the people took so frickin? long to play I thought I was gonna die from boredom. Finally, after and HOUR of intermission, we continued with the 3rd round.

Pairings were up for Round 3. I was facing..

Round 3 vs. Chris (Newly made Blue/Green)

Chris is one of my best friends. He was playing a new deck he had made. I didn?t know what to expect.

Match 1:

We started off with my quickest match all. We just kept hammering each other. It was back and forth for awhile, until I top-decked my trusty Crystal Lancer.

Match 2:

I tried some of my rushing with Emeral and Horrid Worm early so I had the early advantage shield wise. I was lucky enough to pull not 1, not 2, but 3 Terror Pits in my shields and I was able to secure a win.

6-0 in duels, 3-0 in matches.


Pairings for Round 4..

I didn?t even have to get up, I knew who I was facing, the only other undefeated person, my friend and arch-rival, Josh Richards.

Round 4:

We sat down at the table. A judge walks over to us and says: ?Hey guys, since you are both undefeated, you can just call it a draw and you?ll both have 10 points and stay undefeated, since your friends. Just a suggestion? So, me and Josh looked at the list, we had 9 points while everyone else even near us at 6. If we had a draw, we would both still be top. So, I left it up to him. We decided to draw because neither of us wanted to face each other cause we?re so evenly matched. Good thing we did too, we faced for fun and I got pwned =)

Pairings for Round 5..


Round 5 vs. Gino (3 Color shield trigger, aka annoying to Dave deck)

Match 1

He had an extremely slow hand and I mean very slow. I started my control. He started making a comeback until I whipped out a Lancer on him. He Coriled it, but luckily, I had a card in my hand, 8 mana and another card in my hand. Plus, the card I evo?d Lancer to was Hulcus, so I drew Lancer and swung to claim the match.


Match 2:

This time I started off slow and he took control with a whole bunch of triggers and after that, I couldn?t get control, so he handed me my first loss all friggen day. (BOOO)

Match 3:

I found it late in the game and despite the fact he has a lot of shield triggers, it was now or never. My Lancer hits his last two, and, to my surprise, I hit NO shield triggers. My Emeral gave him the killing blow.

Boo Ya Gino!! Pwnage :-P

I didn?t take notes for the top 4, cause I couldn?t find my pen -_-? But I remember he took my down the first match, a loss I wasn?t too happy about. I was able to come back 2 matches in a row to win thought ^^

Round 7 aka the Finals

Vs. None other than, one of my best friends, Chris Brown

Again, I didn?t have my pen. I took the first match, the second match was mine and I knew it. Yea, just my luck, I saw the smirk, Mana Nexus, I dropped match 2. This was it, if I won, I was going to Los Angeles for the Championships, I wasn?t gonna hold anything back, I went all out, played my best, and took the match. Again, Lancer got the spoils of my victory.


It was an awesome day over-all. Let?s do some props and slops eh?

People are always racist and put Props first, I?ll put slops first :-P
