Terror In The Deep - Brandon Schmidt
T and T Toys
Duluth, GA
April 30, 2005
Welcome readers. Today is was the day of the Tournament Of
The 5 Civs, and I wan wel prepared to win. I arrived at T
and T at around one, and chatted, traded, and filled out my
decklist, which looked like this. By the way, Mr. Lee Sandow
wore a new fashion, a belt with about seven Coriles on it. I
found it comical, do you not?
TERROR IN THE DEEP
X4 Aqua Guard
X4 Aqua Hulcas
X4 Corile
X2 Crystal Lancer
X1 Crystal Paladin
X2 Emeral
X2 Brain Serum
X2 Hunter Fish
X4 Horrid Worm
X4 Bloody Squito
X3 Locomotivater
X3 Writhiring Bone Ghoul
X4 Terror Pit
X4 Death Smoke
DECK STRATEGY: Control. One word. I added Hunter Fish in for
extra protection against Rushes, and just for fun.
Unfortuantly for me, Tyler Smallwood was playing in the 15
and up division, so I couldn't get my chance for revenge, as
I was playing in 14 and under. First round was announced,
and I was prepared to win.
DUEL ONE: Brandon vs. Sam
Luckly in all duels I went second. This kid ran a
nature/light deck, but it wasn't a very good one. I let him
take out 4 out of 5 shields, which 3 of those were Terror
PIts. I quickly took control with Hulcas, Horrid and Corile.
After I had gained a small army, I finished it off.
DUEL TWO:
This duel went like the first one. He managed to get out
Barkwhip, but I quickly restored order by using Corile,
Death Smoke and a few of my other cards. The kid put up a
fight, but couldn't handle it. 2-0
Well I was 2-0, and felt happy. What made me happier was
when I watched a duel bewteen Tyler Smallwood and Justin
Couch. Their game was very close. Tyler attacked Justin's
last shield, which was a high risk. Justin's shield turned
out to be Terror Pit, sealing Tyler's fate. After the Terror
Pit was activated, Tyler yelled "God damn it!" out loud. One
of the Tournament organizers rushed over and Tyler was
almost disqualified for using foul language. I found this
very hilarious, Tyler almost getting disqualified, and
losing was a bonus. Round two pairigns wre announced, and I
was displeased to know Matt Gracek was my opponent.
DUEL ONE: Brandon vs. Matt
Me and Matt had a few good laughes before the tournament.
Immediatly when we sat down I said it was going to be 2-1
for one of us. Matt went first. I got really p/o in this
duel so I don't remember many things, so I'll do my best. My
control was working pretty well, but Matt was destroying
evrything I had, and even used Searing Wave to kill about
seven of my creatures. I was P/O. Searing Wave is on my most
hated list. Every creature I summoned was killed, and I
decked out. 2-1
DUEL TWO:
This one was in my favor. It went back and forth. Matt then
took the courtesy to use Searing Wave, killing about six
ccreatures. I was fuming. I played everything I could and
wiped him out. 3-1
DUEL THREE:
My prediction came true. This duel was close, luckly his
Searing Waves were where they needed to be. In his mana
zone. The duel was close. He evntually got a creature and
swung for the win. 3-2
Ok, now I needed to win every duel after this. I watched a
few duels until Round 3 began.
DUEL ONE: Brandon vs. David Fordhad
This kid was good. He used a nature/darkness deck, and used
it well. He had 4 Fighter Dual Fangs. FOUR. We played well.
He eventually got shield triggers and a Fighter Dual Fang to
beat me. 3-3
DUEL TWO:
This one was close. He got a couple Fighter Dual Fangs out
but were quickly destroyed. I managed to earn a small win.
4-3
DUEL THREE:
All I can say is I lost. I was screwed. There was no way I
could make finals.
So I was upset that I wasn't in top four. I kept my head up.
4-4
DUEL ONE: Brandon vs kid I dont remember
This kid used a fire/light deck. He had several holo fire
creatures, but we all know control beats rush. He got a
Blazosaur, which has no good cause of a Hunter Fish. I got
blockers galore, causing him to not be able to attack. Any
big creature he summoned was dealt with by means of Death
Smoke or Terror PIt. 5-4
DUEL TWO:
Similiar duel. I had three Terror Pits in my shields, thanks
to Emeral. I had gained a small army, and he was top decking
thanks to Horid Worm. 6-4
DUEL ONE: Brandon vs. another kid I dont remember
I had talked with this kid before our duel and was going to
trade afterwards. He used a mono water deck. He quickly
burned out his hand. He summoned about 6 blockers in one
turn. I had Paladin in my hand and was slowly building up
creatures. I managed to win my Paladin, which severly mad
him angry.
DUEL TWO:
Corile two times in a row sucks does it not? I Coriled a
Aqua Shooter twice, when he had no cards in his hand or
field. Total suck fest. 8-4
So I didnt make semis, but I was ok. My Rampage packs I got
for playing had jack in them, but I did purchase two new
Stomp-A-Trons decks, which had several useful cards.
PROPS:
Tyler losing, and almost getting disqualified.
Getting to go.
Getting FOUR Armored Blaster Valdios in one day.
Getting MANY new promos and cards that are cool
Corile for being awesome
Florio winning
Meeting Steven Cantrell
SLOPS:
Lee losing...again
Tyler didn't play in 14 and under
Losing.
That's it! If you want to contact me to trade, duel on DMC,
or to chat, here is my information. Also, if you have any
ideas on a new deck name, or want me to help with your
