Must first be either Fusion Summoned, or Special Summoned from your Extra Deck by Tributing 1 Level 10 Aqua monster with 0 ATK. This card can be treated as 1 or 3 Tributes for the Tribute Summon of a monster. Cannot be destroyed by battle. Your opponent’s monsters cannot target for attacks, and your opponent cannot target with card effects, any monsters you control, except “Egyptian God Slime”.

King of Lullaby Hello Pojo Fans, Egyptian God Slime wraps up the week and is a fantastic addition to those who want to play Divine-Beast monsters. You can Fusion Summon this, but tributing a Level 10 Aqua monster with 0 ATK is much easier. One card can get you a 3000/3000 3 tribute monster, that may be a 1-for-1 on paper, but it is more than that. Metal Reflect Slime and Guardian Slime are the two best choices, each able to be searched within the archetype strategy, as well as easily accessible to the field. Other mainstream options are two of the Timelord monsters: Zaphion and Gabrion. Needing only one monster for a Divine-Beast consolidates resources needed for the summon and saves you the need for three monsters. On top of that, you could just used EGS as an offensive weapon, it is after all 3000ATK, and it forces your opponent to get rid of it before going after your other monsters with attacks or effects. Blanket effects will still do the job, but so much of the game is targeting nowadays, and EGS is indestructible in battle, limiting your opponent to effects. Any deck playing a Level 10 WATER monster can summon this and it is a viable option for an Extra Deck. One-card 3000ATK battle immunity and forces your opponent to use effects on it before going after your monsters. Advanced-3.5/5 Art-4/5 Until Next Time |
Crunch$G We end the week off with a classic anime card finally getting printed to the card game, Egyptian God Slime. Egyptian God Slime is a Level 10 WATER Aqua with 3000 ATK and DEF. Great stats overall and still got that nice WATER/Aqua combo. The requirements to Fusion Summon this card are any Aqua and any Level 10 WATER Monster, which is probably aren’t how you’re summoning this since instead you can Special Summon this from the Extra Deck by tributing a Level 10 Aqua with 0 ATK, which Guardian Slime and Metal Reflect Slime are your two options, and it’s a fine way to do such and it makes it generically usable if you want to throw a Metal Reflect Slime into your Deck. This card can be treated as either 1 or 3 tributes for a Tribute Summon, likely to supplement summoning the Egyptian Gods, though I’d love to see this used with Moisture Creature. It cannot be destroyed in battle, because how do you really destroy slime? Finally, your opponent can only target any Egyptian God Slime you control for attacks or effects, which is a pretty good universal protection for your monsters and it’s great to add this to the battle destruction immunity. Basically makes it to where you need an effect to out this thing. It’s an overall cool adaptation of the anime classic and I’m glad to finally see it printed to the TCG/OCG format. Advanced Rating: 3/5 Art: 5/5 Obelisk in slime form looks cooler on actual card art than I would of expected. |
Alex Searcy Seeing Egyptian God Slime on the original anime as a kid was so cool. Level 10, Water/Aqua, 3000 atk/def and Fusion requirements being an Aqua Monster and a Level 10 Water Monsters. Well we covered one Level 10 Water this week, Metal Reflect Slime is another, just to point that out. And any Aqua Monster is an open and easy fill for the other side. Additionally, it MUST be Fusion/Special Summoned by Tributing a Level 10 Aqua Monster (both referenced prior fit that bill) from your Field. Being able to be treated as 3 Tributes for a Monster (again, obviously Ra or any of the Gods) IS a great thing. You’re jumping through a couple hoops to bring this card out (well maybe a hoop and a half) just to bring Ra (or Slifer/Obelisk) to the Field. Battle immunity is good, especially with 3000 atk/def, so that’s a benefit. Although there are better Monsters and ones easier to Summon to gain that effect. This is the only Monster your opponent can attack or Target with Card Effects, which is good and bad. In Battle, it’s not likely to be run over. Being the only card that can be Targeted Effect wise just means the first one that can come and destroy this card will, and then you’ve lost an awful lot of resources. The longer this card stays on the Field, the worse it is for you. You need that Ra/God immediately. Rating: 2.5/5 Art: 4.5/5 SLIME OBELISK |
