El Shaddoll Construct
– #DUPO-EN090
Must first be Fusion Summoned. If this card is Special Summoned: You can send 1 “Shaddoll” card from your Deck to the GY. At the start of the Damage Step, if this card battles a Special Summoned monster: Destroy that monster. If this card is sent to the GY: You can target 1 “Shaddoll” Spell/Trap in your GY; add it to your hand.

King of Lullaby Hello Pojo Fans, My girl El Shaddoll Construct rounds out the week and is finally back at three! This monster needed to be at three for the deck to be playable again. The best of the Fusion monsters, it allows for LIGHT monsters to be used beside Shaddolls. Strong ATK/DEF, Construct has that Catastor effect that is more important now then ever before. Any Shaddoll card can be sent to the grave and with more Shaddoll support on the way this effect becomes even better. You are going to be getting a Shaddoll effect off this cards Fusion Summon, but then you get another, and if you Special Summon this with a card later you will get that Foolish Burial effect again. Construct then can pay for itself if you have a Shaddoll spell/trap in your deck when she hits the grave. You could even use her for a Link Summon just to get another Shaddoll Fusion, but why do that when you have the best of your Fusion Monsters on the field? With so many of their power cards maxed out, Shaddolls may be setting up for a revival. It will be interesting to see. Advanced-4/5 Art-5/5 Until Next Time |
Crunch$G The week ends off with a change of pace, since this card went from one to three while the others went from two to three, and it’s a Fusion Monster while the others were in the Main Deck. We end things off with one of the best Fusion Monsters ever as part of one of the best Fusion archetypes, El Shaddoll Construct. Construct is a Level 8 LIGHT Fairy Fusion with 2800 ATK and 2500 DEF. Great stats and I like the type/attribute combination. The summoning requirements is any Shaddoll monster and any LIGHT monster. Extremely easy to access since there are a lot of Shaddoll monsters and a plethora of LIGHT monsters to use, it gets easier when you use Shaddoll Fusion and your opponent has an Extra Deck Monster. It must first be Fusion Summoned, which is completely fine and I like it can be revived if summoned properly. Upon being Special Summoned, not specifically Fusion Summoned, you can send any Shaddoll card from the deck to the graveyard. It can literally trigger any Shaddoll effect from Squamata for another Shaddoll dump, to Beast for a draw, to Hedgehog for a Shaddoll monster search, to Falco to revive, to Dragon for Spell/Trap removal, to even a Spell/Trap to synergize with another effect on Construct and the other Shaddoll Fusions. It’s a great effect for any deck running Shaddolls, whether pure or an engine. Construct also destroys any Special Summoned monster it battles at the start of the Damage Step, basically making it a Catastor, but better since it can destroy DARK monsters as well. This effect is very useful as the game gets more Special Summon centric and this can get around pesky monsters like Borreload Dragon (assuming it isn’t attacking you) or Borrelsword Dragon just to name some. The final effect of Construct retrieves a Shaddoll Spell/Trap from the graveyard upon being sent to the graveyard herself. The best options are Shaddoll Fusion to Fusion Summon using the Main Deck if the opponent has an Extra Deck monster, or El Shaddoll Fusion to Fusion Summon on the opponent’s turn, or Shaddoll Core to be any attribute for the Fusion Summon of a Shaddoll Fusion (there’s one for every attribute minus DIVINE). This retrieval effect is on every Shaddoll Fusion Monster and it makes them so much better to help make sure you can continue to Fusion Summon. Construct is one of the best Shaddoll Fusions, though you can argue Winda is the better one now, and one worth you experimenting Shaddolls in some LIGHT based decks. Three of this is going to be nice when we get the Shaddoll Structure Deck. Advanced Rating: 4.5/5 Art: 5/5 I mean, the Shaddoll Fusions look great, but no doubt Construct is the best. |
Alex Searcy El Shaddoll Construct closes our week. Also Unlimited (did we notice that theme this week too?) is a Level 8, Fairy, Light Monster, with 2800 attack and 2500 defense. Fusion Summon here is performed with a Shaddoll Monster and one Light Monster. Of course, there’s a million ways to perform Fusion these days, even in the theme specifically with the Shaddoll Fusion Magic card. So first we see this card has to be Fusion Summoned to be brought out. But only the first time, so you can revive it however you choose after as long as she was properly brought out the first time. If Special Summoned, you can dump a Shaddoll from your Deck to the Graveyard (another huge part of the theme for various reasons, so we like this, a LOT) This card destroys a Monster it Battles with at the start of the Damage Step, if that Monster was Special Summoned. Which is a fantastic way to get over something more powerful than itself, which might not be necessary given the attached 2800 attack, but will/can still be rather useful. Lastly, when sent to the Graveyard, you can retrieve a theme specific Magic/Trap from the Graveyard. Getting anything back from your Graveyard when you lose something from the Field is always good. This is a Targeting effect, worth noting, but that shouldn’t be a problem. This is a fantastic Monster for Shaddolls, and one it wouldn’t hurt to use multiples of. Rating: 4.5/5 Art: 5/5 This is one of those Light/Fairies that makes me look twice, and just because there’s light at the top in the background doesn’t mean LIGHT, but she looks rather ominous. Nothing here strikes or says evil, per say, aside maybe from the dark body colors, but I like this a lot. |
