Hello Pojo Fans,

Eldlich the Mad Golden Lord is our final card of the week, and the second Eldlich monster in the game.

You need your Eldlich, but with the card saying “Eldlich” monster, they at least give you options like Phantom of Chaos or Prisma, and hint that we may get future Eldlich monsters. Level 5 or higher Zombie monster could be a few monsters, but if you aren’t playing Dark Dust Spirit, your easiest bet is to use Instant Fusion or Retort Fusion (once released) to get to a Zombie Monster to satisfy the requirements…or use one of your Eldlich trap cards, either way.

Once you you, you’ve got a Fusion monster that’s considered your Eldlich Golden Lord, no loss of synergy with your spell/traps. Destruction protection against battle and card effects for a 3800ATK monster seems overpowered, but we’ll run with it in an archetype that has one monster for all its spell/traps. 1-for-1 with your opponents monster, and while its essentially Mind Control in monster form, you still can link it away for something. Once this card is on the field it is a giant wall that your opponent will struggle to get rid of. Once they get rid of it, you can always bring it back with one of your Eldlich traps, or a regular revival option like Monster Reborn. While the deck does great on its own, giving it a Fusion option that is a big beater with inherited protection and ability to clear away a monster for an attack that works with its trap cards that become monsters on the field gives it a whole new level of power.

Advanced-3.5/5- Not sure if it will see a ton of play because the deck is great without it, but ya never know.
Art-5/5- So much is going on and I love it.

Until Next Time

We end the week off finally looking at a bigger monster and the new Eldlich boss: Eldlich the Mad Golden Lord.

Eldlich 2 is a Level 10 LIGHT Zombie Fusion with 3800 ATK and 3500 DEF. Insanely good stats on a Level 10 Fusion, LIGHT is a great Attribute, and Zombie is well supported. The Fusion Materials are any Eldlich monster and any Level 5 or higher Zombie, which is achievable considering how fast you can get to Eldlich himself and how the Golden Land Continuous Traps are Level 5 or higher Zombies. You could also Super Poly in an Eldlich mirror or using Zombie World. This cards name becomes Eldlich the Golden Lord while on the field, fitting most of your effects to get their max value. It cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects. The battle bit seems redundant on 3800 ATK and 3500 DEF, but any destruction protection is great, and at least it added effect destruction to be protected from as well. You can tribute any Zombie monster to target a face-up monster the opponent controls and you get to take control of it, but it cannot attack or activate its effects that turn. The restriction is fine considering this is a permanent steal of an opponent’s monster while potentially loading the grave with your Golden Land Traps to get Eldlixirs or put the original Eldlich in the grave to revive himself and get 3500/3800 stats and some destruction protection as well. Mad Golden Lord is a nice boss for Eldlich, but it seems more like a tech than a staple. The Continuous Spell meant to Fusion Summon this isn’t necessary, but is fine to run if you want. Zombie World variants might use this with Super Poly. Either way, it’s fine if you can fit it in, but not necessary considering how good the previous Eldlich cards already are.

Advanced Rating: 3.5/5

Art: 4/5 I’m curious as to where the portal leads.

Eldlich, whom I suspect like was mad, is officially mad now, at least in print, as the Mad Golden Lord closes the week.  This is a behemoth of a Fusion at Level 10 and having 3800 attack.  3500 defense is also superb and Light is a bit odd on Zombie but still quite workable.  Fusion Summon here requires an Eldlich Monster and a Level 5 or higher Zombie.  So it’s openly specific there in both sides.  On the Field, he becomes the other Lord, and then you see you’ve got a 3800 attack body on a card who can’t be destroyed in Battle or by Card Effect.  Then you go…wow.  Tributing a Zombie lets you steal an opponent’s face up Monster for the Turn.  Said Monster can’t attack or activate its effect(s) BUT you can do anything else with it.  Tribute, Extra Deck play, whatever, so it should still be plenty of use to you.  This guy could certainly mean trouble if he hits the Field, and he’s good without being over powered or broken, and I like that too.

Rating:  3.75/5

Art:  5/5  He looks rather sinister and demented, doesn’t he?
