King of Lullaby Hello Pojo Fans, Evil HERO Adusted Gold, counterpart to Captain Gold, starts off Evil Hero week. Same stats, only difference is Type and Attribute, where Captain had the benefit of RoTA. Adjusted though has more synergy with the core function of the deck he is part of by searching Dark Fusion instead of a Field Spell, as well as not having a condition that would result in his destruction if not met. You can leave Adjusted Gold on the field and have a 2100ATK monster protecting you, no strings attached, which is nice. Can’t attack isn’t really a bad thing, you can link him away or use him alongside Dark Fusion if you had one in your hand already. He is your King of The Swap for the deck to be honest, that is his best trait. Ditch to search Dark Fusion and drop a big Fusion monster. Stratos, Shadow Mist, and Evil Mind search this card so there are reliable HERO-based searchers and an archetype-specific card to serach this guy. Dark Fusion is the lifeblood of the deck and getting to it quickly is what the strategy is all about, and Adusted does that. Advanced-4/5 Art-4/5- Better detail, darker color than the original, and I like the greater detail. Until Next Time |
Crunch$G Now we get into the week I was looking most forward to, the Evil HEROs, mostly because I loved the Supreme King arc in the anime and I loved the Evil HERO archetype, so seeing it get new support made me happy and the first piece of support we look at is Evil HERO Adusted Gold. Evil HERO Adusted Gold is a Level 4 LIGHT Fiend with 2100 ATK and 800 DEF. Similar stats to Elemental HERO Captain Gold, the card this was supposed to retrain, in terms of the good ATK, low DEF, and good attribute but only the Warrior typing changes to Fiend. With ATK that good, you need a downside and thankfully it isn’t as bad as Captain Gold destroying itself when you don’t have Skyscraper, instead this card just cannot attack if you don’t control a Fusion Monster. I mean, you’re playing HEROs, so I imagine getting to a Fusion Monster is a piece of cake, especially with Mask Change. You probably aren’t summoning this that often, instead you’ll most likely discard it from the hand to search for Dark Fusion or a card that lists Dark Fusion in the effect text that isn’t another Adusted Gold. Sweet way to search for the Fusion Spells that are the only ways to even summon the Evil HERO Fusions to begin with, it’s something this branch of the HERO archetype needed, alongside better Fusions. It’s a hard once per turn for the search, but that does not matter that much. This makes Dark Gaia OTK more consistent and it is one of the pieces that makes adding Evil HEROs worthwhile in a HERO deck. Advanced Rating: 4.25/5 Art: 4.5/5 A million times better looking than Captain Gold. |
Alex Searcy Evil Hero week…this doesn’t seem like anything to be thankful for as we approach Thanksgiving…despite the obvious improvements of these cards. Adjusted Gold is a retrain of Captain Gold, and much better in about every way possible. The Light/Fiend combo here is delicious, and 2100 attack on a Level 4 (especially without an asinine cost to keep on the Field or attack) is equally good. By discarding this card from your Hand to the Graveyard, you can retrieve a Dark Fusion (or a card that specifically states Dark Fusion in its text) from your Deck to your Hand. Nice, honest and even 1-for 1 here. Dark Fusion is very likely the card you’re taking, and while you can’t fetch another Adjusted Gold (why would you anyway) this is still superb. Said effect can only be used once per turn, which is appropriate, if only to prevent abuse. This card can only attack if you control a Fusion Monster. Which is easy enough in your Evil Hero Deck. As said in the open, that’s a requirement to attack that’s not even troublesome. This guy is infinitely better than Captain Gold and a true asset to Evil Hero players. Rating: 4/5 Art: 4.75/5 Truly evil looking, no? That background in the sky, the armor, and especially the cape in tatters. I love this |
