3+ Effect Monsters
If this card is Link Summoned: You can place counters on this card equal to the number of different types of Cyberse monsters in your GY (Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, Xyz). This card gains 2500 ATK for each counter on it during the Battle Phase only. When your opponent activates a monster effect (Quick Effect): You can remove 1 counter from this card; negate the activation, also, if this effect was activated between this card’s attack declaration and the end of the Damage Step, this card can make another attack in a row.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Link 5 to end the week, this is our first Link 5 in the game: Firewall Dragon Darkfluid.

Only three effect monsters but you have to reach all the links, but with the ability to spam Special Summons you shouldn’t have too much of an issue with that depending on your deck. This card gets inherently better when used in a Cyberse archetype. If you don’t run Cyberse or don’t have access to them, you likely won’t run this. If you do, the more Extra Deck Cyberse you get in the grave the better for this card. With a potential boost of 10,000ATK, this card’s damage capabilities can get out of hand with even half that amount. Even one Cyberse Extra Deck type monster (including Ritual) can boost it to 5500ATK, which hardly anything will get over without some help. The ATK gain is only for the the Battle Phase, this is a good balance, it keeps this monster from ruining the entire duel. You can remove a counter to negate a monster effect, dropping the ATK of this monster, a fair trade especially if you are saving cards/slowing your opponent with the negation. The chances of negating during the Battle Phase are slim, but it can happen (searchers, ATK changes, etc.) and if that happens you can negate and get another attack, a win-win for you. Darkfluid can negate anytime it wants it feels like and as long as you have counters on it you will benefit from that negation ability and ATK boost. It doesn’t destroy the card it negates, but if you use it for something like a hand trap or a graveyard effect that doesn’t really matter.

This card needs Cyberse in the grave before you summon it so it can get those counters. Without them, it is just a 3000ATK monsters with a bunch of arrows. There are plenty of ways you can get at least a Fusion Cyberse and a Link Cyberse in the grave to give Darkfluid two counters, which is good enough to summon this.

We end the week off with a monster that’s the first of its kind… well the first of its kind that isn’t a World’s Prize Card, Firewall Dragon Darkfluid.

Darkfluid is a Link-5 DARK Cyberse with 3000 ATK and arrows pointing Up, Left, Right, Bottom Left, and Bottom Right. The ATK is fairly good typically, even if I wouldn’t mind a little more with this being Link-5, but the arrows are good and versatile while it has a great combination of type and attribute. The summoning requirements are any 3+ Effect Monsters, meaning you could use a Link-3 and 2 other monsters or 2 Link-2s and another monster, or a Link-2 and three monsters, or… I guess you get the point. Upon being Link Summoned, it gains counters equal to the number of Cyberse monsters of different monster types are in your graveyard which includes the types of Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, and Xyz. Well I guess all those Cyberse monsters that used those summoning mechanics make more sense now. This does kinda lock this card to being mostly exclusive to Cyberse-based Decks to be utilized to the fullest potential, but that’s fine and I imagine it’ll be easy to get each of them into the grave if you were trying to summon this. You can get a max of 4 counters basically, which should suffice for anything else this card does. This card does gain 2500 ATK during the Battle Phase for each counter it has, meaning this can get all the way up to an impressive 13000 ATK if you max the counters out. With that said, on average I imagine you’ll have 1 or 2 counters on this most of the time, 3 on a good day, so this would be between 5500-8000 typically and get to 10500 if you do manage to get 3 counters, which either way would turn this card into a powerhouse. The counters have another use as well because as a Quick Effect, if your opponent uses a monster effect, you can remove a counter to negate that effect and then if this effect was used between attack declaration and the Damage Step, it’ll be able to make another attack in a row. So saying you get this to 13000 ATK with 4 counters and negate an effect while this is attacking, you do go down to 10500 ATK, but that makes you likely to get in good damage for attacking the monster and then getting in more good damage by attacking another monster if not going in for a direct attack. Again, 1-2 counters seems the most feasible and 3-4 is still in the realm of possibility, especially if you try for it. It’s great that this effect isn’t a once per turn in any form, meaning you could really get a lot of damage in if you keep attacking and negating monster effects at the same time. Reminds me of how the original Firewall Dragon didn’t have a once per turn, only this effect is more balanced due to what you’d need to go through to even set it up. Darkfluid is a nice boss monster for Cyberse Decks to now have, especially in the new @Ignister archetype that can really utilize all the summoning mechanics this card needs, but pure Cyberse Decks can also utilize those summoning mechanics, just not as efficiently as @Ignisters in my opinion.

Advanced Rating: 3.5/5

Art: 3.75/5 I dunno, I just like how the original Firewall Dragon looked better than I do feel about this.

What have we here, a LINK 5 Monster to close the week?  Firewall Dragon Darkfluid is a Dark, Cyberese, Link 5 Monster with 3000 attack.  The arrows here point directly above, to the immediate left and right, as well as the bottom respective diagonals.  So, when Link Summoned you can put Counters on the this card equal to Cyberese Monsters in your Graveyard of a different type.

Type here meaning Ritual, Synchro, Fusion, and/or XYZ.  Each Counter is worth 2500 attack, so even one gives this guy 5500 attack total.  4 (somehow) would give you 10000 extra attack, that’s worth something, isn’t it?  I mean, how often do we have 13000 attack point Monsters on the Field?  Granted this is only during the Battle Phase, but it’s either one.

A Quick Effect lets you remove a Counter from this card when your opponent activates a Monster effect.  Said effect is negated, which is good, but the Monster survives, which is bad.  If said effect happens during the Battle Phase after this card declares an attack, before the Damage Step, FDD gets a second attack.  This time (as opposed to earlier in the week) the attack must be in a row.

There’s potential for greatness here, but it’s situational on what you have in the Graveyard, which isn’t bad, per say.  It’s just a fact.  The attack and OTK potential exists, but it’s still vulnerable to all the Magic/Traps, and losing all that attack increase per Counter given is troubling too.

Rating:  3.75/5

Art:  4.25/5  I like this but it looks on the body/surface to be a very dark Stardust Dragon.  The purple background compliments all that black pretty well thought.  I’d like more fire/fire colors in it too.
