Lisa Hawkeye, Calming Influence

9 Command
Level 3
Human—Soldier—Hero

8 / 8 / 0

Battle Strength 10: Target defending character gets +3 to each attribute.

Lisa's theme in the FMA TCG seems to be defense support. Your opponent has to think hard about attacking when they know you can give the bonus to any defending character. +3 to all attributes is a huge bonus. Basically, you can use her ability to deter your opponent from attacking. Just know that after you use her ability, your opponent will be much more aggressive.

Lisa's stats are good for a level 3, and her ability only costs 2 more strength than she has. Since she's a soldier, she becomes a 9/9/0 with Hakuro in play. I like this card, but I'm going to have to see her level 2s in order to determine how strong her deck build is.

Rating: 4/5 (Great Effect, Good Stats)

Darktaro

Today we take a look at one of the new leaders for Full Metal Alchemist, Liza Hawkeye. Rather then talk about the leader itself, I'll talk about some potential she has as a decktype, since being the only level 3 at the moment you have no choice but to run it. I for one have been awaiting the Liza leader since it has been spoiled from Alchemist Gate because it finally opens up a hero military deck as a viable option.

The biggest obstacle to the military hero deck was if you play Hughes, you lose Hughes Aggressive which is quite arguably one of the better Hughes allies. If you played Roy, not all of his leaders were heroes so you would lose a bit there. In addition, the lack of military hero allies in general stopped from building a complete build. Now with Liza you can play Roy and Hughes hero allies in the same deck. Not only that but with the addition of new military hero allies such as Winry and Sheska who can actually fight as well, rounds it out quite nicely.

Since this is a review for Liza Hawkeye, Calming Influence, however I probably should talk about the card. In essence this is similar to her Full of Advice ally, except you get a +3 to any attribute as opposed to a +2 to strength only. In addition, it now has a cost that is higher than her printed attributes, but it should be easy to get that with a few attachments and passive pumps. In sealed, if you are lucky enough to pull or draft her level 1's and 2's, this level 3 leader should put you at an advantage, as long as the game last long enough to get to level 3.

Pros:
-+3 pump to any attribute makes it like a built-in Out the Window
-Great attributes
-9 command doesn't make you lose any huge military allies

Cons:
-Her ability requires you to pump up her strength somehow

Sealed:3/5-All dependant on whether you have her level 1's and 2's
Constructed:4/5-Go out and build that military hero deck!

Charstar

Liza Hawkeye, Calming Influence

Liza Hawkeye seems to be quite lackluster in comparison to what everyone anticipated in this set:
Dual-faction leaders.

However, Hawkeye delivers some quite good effects on her leaders, not to mention the good stats, and this card is doing just that.

A 16-point 9 command has been done before, but Hawkeye's 3 rounds out a good solid balanced leader stack. Tha ability, a +3 pump to any defending character is very nice. Attacking is one of the worst things an opponent can do with this Hawkeye on the field.

The ability is a bit steep, needing 2 more strength than the leader has, But Liza sure makes up for it.

Sealed - 5/5: If you get a 3, play it.
Constructed - 3.5/5 - There are just better military leaders.

-Charstar, the Crescent Moon Alchemist

MILLER

Liza Hawkeye acts as Roy Mustangs assistant, secretary, and sometimes his best-friend. She's saved his life numerous times in the anime, to list them would take too long. She finally gets her own leader in the Seven Deadly Sins expansion, and today we look at one of the least important levels of her leader.

Level 3s are usually not the focal point of decks. However, some leaders level 3s are well worth leveling to. Scar, Psiren, Alphonse Elric, etc. all have great level 3s and sometimes have the decks built around them. Liza Hawkeye, fortunately, is not a level 3 focused leader. It makes her deck a good bit simpler to make, meaning you focus on your level 1 or 2, but going to level 3 will not hinder your deck.

In sealed, the usefulness is non-existent in this format. In constructed its currently the only option for a level 3, so yes, you should run it.

Sealed 1/5: You probably won't get to level 3 here.
Constructed 5/5: Only option for level 3, so use it.
