Pojo's FMA Card of the Day
MILLER |
Scar, in his
final hours, did a few courageous and at the
same time, treacherous acts. Courageously, he
risked his own body to save the soul of Alphonse
Elric. Treacherously, he helped the homunculus
achieve their goal, The Philosopher's Stone.
Sadly, this is the last we see of Scar, as he
had to activate the transmutation circle for the
Stone while he was still in the area.
Seven Deadly Sins is shaping up to be the most
unique set yet. First we get an Edward Elric
ally that is Rebel, which I find weird, I think
he should always be Elric. I mean the faction's
named after him. However, we are talking about
Scar and his Final Rest. This is the first Scar
ally that is a homunculus ally. Also, if I know
FMA like I know FMA, there should be a rebel
Lust in this set as well.
This Scar seems a little odd compared to his
other allies. First of all, his wits are higher
than any other stat, a first for Scar. Secondly,
as I stated before, he is homunculus. While
there is another Scar that is another faction,
this one is particularly odd, as it doesn't seem
to help the general build of a homunculus deck.
In sealed, he is EXCELLENT, he is a first turn
recruit for any leader, he isn't hero or
villain. Also, if you just so happen to have a
rebel leader, scar is a nice 4/5/3, which is
over the unusual 2.0 ratio. In Constructed, Scar
works well in a Shou Tucker deck that splashes
rebel chimeras, and it can also work ok for any
deck that uses a nice mixture of rebel and
homunculus.
Sealed: 5/5 First turn drops are a key to
victory in this format.
Constructed: 3/5 Requires a specific deck type,
but is not a bad card.

Scar, Final
Rest
Ally
Cost 5
Faction: Homunculus
Human.Ishbalite
Rarity: Chase/Rare(possibly)
Set: Seven Deadly Sins
Str: 3
Wit: 4
Alc: 2
While you have a rebel character in play, Scar
gets +1 to each attribute.
"This truly must be the will of Ishbala."
Scar, Final Rest is a new ally for the
Homunculus faction, he's got alchemy and he has
a nice effect. He gets +1 to each attribute if
you have a mob in play. That's 4/5/3 for a 5
cost, which is cool. You can combo him in a
rebel deck, since they're filled with mobs. 4
wits is nice, especially when you can play the
Homunculus mark, Mark of O. but it's unique...
so you'd better think twice about using it. You
can play some 5 wits card such as More,
Intimidation, and such. Of course you need to
EE, have an attachment, or have that mob out in
play. He's got 2 alchemy, it's low but it's okay
for a five cost ally. Since not many decks are
Homunculus alchemy based, this can throw your
opponent off? This card has potential, since the
set has only a few cards revealed, but as of
now, all we can do is wait.

Scar, Final
Rest
I'm really disapointed. Using a sub-name as cool
as "Final Rest" for a card that won't see play
outside of sealed, and then only if their forced
to use it. I guess he cheap for a Homunculus
alchemist, but Bait does the same deal, and in
Shou you can have Mugear turn two with one more
alchemy. I hate to just say negative things, but
I can't find a thing positive with this card.
Limited: 3.5/5
4/5/3 isn't much even in sealed, but as a turn
one ally you can maybe defeat one or two people
before they level.
Constructed: 1.5/5
Play it in a Chimera Shou deck and thats all I
see. He's not even good then. Errata him to 6 or
7 cost, up his stats a bit with the same effect
and then I'll be happy.

That is a lot
of accronyms in the subject haha. Anyways here
is my review:
Today we’re looking at a preview card for Seven
Deadly Sins, Scar, Final Rest. This Scar card
has the unique distinction of being Homonculus
faction. Offhand I can say that this card offers
nothing really special for the Homonculus
faction. It doesn’t offer the large wits stat
that you expect from other Homonculus allies and
it doesn’t offer a big strength or alchemy boost
you expect from Scar. Its effect is also hard to
get off as there are few Rebel allies you would
splash into a Homonculus deck that isn’t Scar
himself.
In other faction decks he doesn’t particularly
provide any amazing stats or ability. In most
cases you are better off with Scar, Stalker who
cost one more and has great stats and a great
ability. Even Scar, Cold Hearted, gives a great
built in alchemy pump for Elric decks. If there
is some saving grace to this card, it is that it
works well in sealed format where low cost
allies can be hard to come by and you are more
likely to play mixed faction.
Pros:
-It is low cost
-Great for sealed format
Cons:
-Stats are nothing spectacular
-Effect gives a very minimal boost
Sealed: 4/5-It’s a low cost drop that any Lvl1
Homonculus or 6 command leader can drop.
Constructed: 1/5-There are much better Scar
allies out there that can be played in any
faction deck.
