Pojo's FMA Card of the Day
MILLER |
Sloth is the
repercussions of the Elric Brothers horrendous
experiment in human transmutation, although the
best of the intentions were had from the
brothers, as they were simply acting on a whim
to revive their mother, whom they both missed
dearly. Despite these good intentions, they
created what is called a homunculus, and little
did they know that she would terrorize them
later in the series as Sloth.
Despite being the only option for Sloth at level
1 with 6 command, this
Sloth will be hard to top in future sets. Being
a 6 command, first of all, is a major advantage.
It allows for many, many numerous useful first
turn drops, 5 cost out of faction characters and
allies such as "Shou Tucker, Bait". She has
run-of-the-mill stats at 2 strength and 3 wits
with the standard 0 alchemy of the homunculi,
sans Wrath of course. Her effect allows you to
send her and 1 other character into battle
without risking losing either in battle, except
for the exception of being at the location
Police Station, the opponent using "Bald,
Hostage Taker," etc. In general this leader will
be the standard level 1 for Sloth for quite a
while.
In sealed, if you manage to pull the Envy deck
with this leader and the
level 2, you should definitely consider this as
a good option, but Envy would still probably be
the best option. In constructed, this is the
only option that makes any sense for Sloth.
Sealed: 2.5/5 Envy is probably a better choice.
Constructed: 5/5 Sloth's only viable level 1
option.

Sloth is one of
the new leaders from Alchemist Gate and this is
one of her two level 1 leaders. It being 6
command already puts it in the more viable list
when compared to her 5 command. Also, her 5
command is a military so if you were to start
with that not only can you only start military
allies but you won’t be able to recruit any
homunculus allies at level one that are higher
than 4 cost.
Sloth’s ability is very good as well. She makes
up for her low stats by being incredibly hard to
defeat as she just keeps coming back during the
cleanup phase. In constructed unless you can
pull her level 1 and level 2 she’s probably not
as good as the other homunculus of choice, Envy.
All in all however this is a solid card which
will see play until they come out with a better
6 command version of her.
Pros:
-6 command
-Ability makes it hard for you to lose an ally
early game
Cons:
-Low stats, but that is to be expected from a 6
command leader.
Sealed:2/5-A bit harder to be viable since you
need to also pull her level 2 as well.
Constructed:5/5-If you want to play Sloth, you
play this leader.
